While Hector and Shannon talked in the room, Marie and Caleb, within the dolls, similarly chatted in the study on the second floor.
Since Jaxon-Caleb was forcefully taken from the apartment to the Jensen residence, Caleb's doll was similarly brought along and placed next to Marie's in the glass display inside the study.
Luckily, they could still talk to each other, saving them from utter despair and isolation.
Right then, they began to get impatient and anxious.
"Didn't they say they've handled the Malignant System? Even Cecily has been captured. So, why haven't they released us from the dolls yet?"
Since learning from the Jensens that Shannon had exterminated the system, Caleb and Marie had been patiently waiting for her to release them.
He even told Marie, "As long as Shannon puts me back into my body, I'll treat her like my sister and stop targeting her."
At the end of the day, Caleb's dislike toward Shannon entirely stemmed from his bias toward Cecily.
Due to Shannon's return, Cecily, a replacement for her, felt like she had lost her purpose within the family. She ranted her grievances and anxiety to Caleb all the time, causing him to subconsciously treat Shannon like an enemy.
Yet now…
After witnessing Cecily's vileness and heartlessness, Caleb felt not even a sliver of sympathy for her. Instead, he hated her to the core!
Therefore, after throwing Cecily out of the picture and considering the traumatic experience he had been through being stuck inside a doll, he repeatedly affirmed to himself that he would concede with everything Shannon said as long as she helped him.
It had been a whole day, yet she never appeared.
Noticing her silence, he called out for her twice before she finally sighed, responding, "Don't put too much hope on her, Cal. She grew up in a different household, after all, so her bond with us isn't as strong.
"Besides, she let Cecily attack us. I'm sure she has a way to reverse this."
She couldn't help but recall Cecily's words the other day. After hearing that Shannon might've deliberately allowed this to happen, she was pissed.
However, Marie's anger subsided after Adam explained that George had purposely chosen not to disclose anything in advance.
Still, now that Shannon was taking her sweet time to release them, Marie was swayed by Cecily's words once again.
If Shannon had foreseen Cecily's schemes, she must've had a way for them to avoid her trap.
