"Really?" Cecily seemed excited, then alluded to something. "Actually, I've prepared a surprise for you too, Cal."

Unaware of her ulterior motives, he instantly showed delight and stepped harder on the accelerator. Before long, he brought her back to his place in the city.

Caleb only visited the house occasionally but ensured it was cleaned every three days. Just before he returned yesterday, he had arranged for a housekeeper to tidy up.

"Of course." Caleb looked affectionately at her. "I'll grant you whatever wish you want."

A smile suddenly crept onto Cecily's face. She stared at him and softly uttered, "So, you promised me. If that's the case… I want all of your fortune."

Before he could comprehend what she meant, his mind felt like it had flipped on its head. In the blink of an eye, the very scene before him shifted dramatically.

Suddenly, it felt like he was trapped inside a cabinet, looking out through the glass panels as Cecily and "he" smiled gently at him. At that moment, his mind went black, unable to discern whether the scene before him was a dream or reality.

It wasn't after a while that he finally heard Cecily's sweet voice uttering the most chilling words. "Do you like my surprise, Cal?"
