Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 698

Not wasting another second with the Snowdens, Caleb brought Cecily to pack her stuff up and leave.

As much as Philip and Kimberly wanted to stop them, they were more concerned about Elora's curse. Thus, they helplessly went up to Shannon.

"Ms. Jensen, we know you're great at what you do. Would you please help Elora?"

"Right, Ms. Jensen. Considering our relationship, please help out a young girl."

"Ms. Jensen, my hand hurts. You must have a way to save me, right?"

The trio spoke incessantly, and after examining their faces, Shannon stepped back with indifference. "I might've identified it as a curse, but I'm not good at breaking them. Therefore, I can't help you."

After a brief pause, she added, "With that said, the curse isn't fatal. At most, you'll endure a few days more of this. I suggest you plead to your sister as that'd be more effective."

Subsequently, she turned around and left without giving them a chance to cling to her.

Indeed, she wasn't well-versed in breaking curses, but in reality, she could've helped Elora's case if she wanted to since it wasn't a tricky spell.

However, lifting the curse could disrupt the Malignant System's energy on her wrist, prompting it to become defensive.

Secondly, she simply didn't want to help Elora.

Whether it was Philip, Kimberly, or Elora, they all shared a face of apathy and ingratitude.

Although Elora was only 15 years old, she was tinged with grudge debt—gray in color—which was accumulated by the living.

Shannon had seen a similar grudge debt from Rachel.

Those who were bullied and unable to fight back, would channel their resentment onto their bullies, casting a grudge debt upon them.

How useless was this daughter of theirs?

Sitting in the departing car, Cecily was unaware of her parents' thoughts. Even if she were, she couldn't care less about them.

With the system, she could seize about half of the entire Jensen family's fortune next. By then, she would live a life more glorious than any of them.

The more they treated her unfairly because of Elora, the more they would come to regret not winning her favor in the future. She couldn't wait for the day they came crawling back to her.

With that in mind, Cecily was more resolute in her decision.

Noticing her silence, Caleb assumed she was sad about the Snowdens and comforted her. "Don't feel sad for those pricks. You still have me and the Jensens, don't you? Don't worry. I will never abandon you."

She smiled at him. "I know. Grandma aside, you're the only one who's truly good to me, Cal."
