Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 612

On the way to campus, the atmosphere in the car was strangely quiet.

Shannon glanced at Benjamin beside her. His entire body emitted a golden light and illuminated the backseat so brightly that Shannon couldn't discern his expression through the light.

She decided to give up after a moment and asked, "Are you mad?"

Her bluntness caught Benjamin off guard though his face remained emotionless. Instead of answering, he asked in return, "Why do you ask?"

"I feel like you're upset," Shannon said. There was a rare look of confusion on her face.

She couldn't recall saying anything wrong earlier, but it seemed she'd offended him for some reason.

After thinking it over, she concluded it must be because Benjamin had unpredictable mood swings, especially since Benjamin had OCD. Perhaps even the slightest asymmetry of his hair had annoyed him.

Benjamin watched her genuinely ponder the reason. His dark eyes narrowed as he asked, "If I am, what would you do about it?"

Shannon wanted to say that she didn't know either. That was exactly the reason why she was asking.

But since Benjamin wasn't going to explain further, she thought about it and decided that she should try to appease him since she'd caused him some trouble today.

With that thought in mind, she pulled a talisman from her backpack and swiftly folded the paper into little figures. She made sure that they matched his preferences and were exactly the same size.

Benjamin watched her do her thing. He was familiar with the little figures she was crafting.

Once the paper figures were cut, Shannon placed them on Benjamin's lap. "This is for you."

Benjamin raised an eyebrow and watched as Shannon quickly formed a mudra. Spiritual energy flowed, and the two paper figures slowly stood on his lap.

His "fiancée" had unexpectedly stumbled into his life, and although she had never acknowledged the title, Benjamin couldn't possibly ignore her.

The more he noticed her, the more he found himself indulging her. And the more he did so, protecting her became second nature.

By the time he realized it, he found that he'd never rejected the idea of having Shannon as his "fiancée" from the beginning. It was as though she was always meant to be there.

Almost instinctively, he extended his hand toward the two paper figures.

Shannon saw that and focused on sending the two paper figures jumping onto his palm.

Under her astonished gaze, she watched as the paper figures started to absorb the golden light and glow as if the light had accepted them.
