When Hank turned around, Shannon had gotten into the Cooper family's car. The car drove away from the Jensen residence not long after.
Hank felt frustrated and remembered that he had intended to ask for Shannon's number. But judging from her attitude, she likely wouldn't have added him anyway.
He couldn't help but wonder why she held such a grudge. She had reconciled with Scott, so why couldn't he get the same treatment?
As Hank pondered, he started walking back when Cecily approached him. She looked at him curiously.
"Hank, what did you say to Shannon? She seemed upset."
Cecily was worried to see Hank getting closer to Shannon. It was something she didn't want to happen.
Hank didn't realize Cecily was trying to probe for information. He nearly spat out blood in disbelief to hear Cecily say that Shannon seemed unhappy when he was the one who was upset.
Shannon had told him not to talk to her for three months!
Though Hank was upset, he didn't take it out on Cecily. He explained, "I asked her to make me a custom emerald pendant because her craftsmanship isn't too bad."
He didn't reveal Shannon's identity.
Cecily hadn't expected Hank to approach Shannon for an emerald pendant.
She knew Hank had always been interested in emerald pendants, but why would he go to Shannon? He could have hired any expert he wanted with his identity as a Jensen.
Though she thought so, she kept a smile on her face. "Speaking of emerald pendants, Shannon seems to have given Scott a new emerald pendant. She really cares about him."
Her words implied that Shannon cared more about Scott than Hank. Scott was seemingly more important to Shannon than Hank.
Hank's facial muscles twitched at hearing her words. Of course, he knew about the new emerald pendant Shannon had given Scott.
In this regard, she was still better than Shannon.
With that thought in mind, Cecily looked at Hank with a hint of delight in her eyes and said in a soft voice, "You've custom-ordered a special emerald pendant. I'm sure whoever receives such a thoughtful gift from you will surely be elated."
She was trying to give him affirmation to evoke a positive response. Hank's affection levels for her had recently decreased, and she saw this as an opportunity to recover some of the affection levels.
Since she was still on his mind, she was confident that she could quickly restore his affection levels for her with a little effort.
But Hank looked at her with an odd expression and clarified, "It's not a gift for anyone. I made it for myself."
That emerald pendant was worth several million dollars and associated with the Stone Turtle, so there was no way he would just give it away.
Cecily felt utterly defeated.
