Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 609

As a father, Adam realized he hadn't paid enough attention to Shannon.

He was about to ask more questions when George interrupted in time.

Earlier, he had gone with Marie's questions about Shannon's relationship because he genuinely wanted to know who the man was as a grandfather. Though Shannon was independent and capable, they shouldn't forget that she was just an 18-year-old.

No one would be truly mature at this age; her past experiences had merely forced her to appear so.

Since he couldn't offer much help in her chosen path, he figured he could at least watch out for her in matters like this. But all his remaining concerns were whisked away after seeing Benjamin in person.

He glanced over at Marie. "Now that you've met him, do you still have any concerns?"

Marie pursed her lips and couldn't find her voice. The name Benjamin Cooper meant no one could pick a flaw in him.

George noticed her silence. His smile faded slightly as he made his final decision. "No more objections about Shannon attending the mystic school or participating in entertainment programs.

"Shannon is the eldest granddaughter of the Jensen family. As her grandmother, all you have to do is appreciate and support her."

His last sentence was clearly pointed.

Marie stifled. She felt that George was perhaps indulging this new granddaughter far too much. She wanted to protest but reluctantly agreed when seeing Benjamin.

Benjamin didn't stay for long after that. He suggested sending Shannon back to campus himself.

Hector was utterly dumbstruck. Was Benjamin seriously taking over his job?

For the first time, he wondered if having Benjamin come clean to the family so soon was a wise idea.

As Shannon and Benjamin strolled around the garden and Mark loaded Shannon's things into the car, they finally had a moment alone to talk.

"Thank you for today. I'll find a time soon to tell them that we've broken up, so they won't suspect anything," Shannon straightforwardly suggested.

Though his cold and unreadable gaze didn't feel dangerous, they sent an inexplicable pressure washing over her.

Shannon couldn't quite put a finger on the feeling, but she stared back at him.

They locked eyes for nearly two seconds, and Benjamin was the first to look away. "Let's go."

With that, he strode forward once more.

Shannon lagged behind a step. She stared at his tall figure shrouded in golden light and exhaled quietly.

For a moment there, she thought he was going to change his mind about sending her back to campus. Her judgment seemed a bit off.

With that thought, Shannon hurried to catch up. But just as she'd taken two steps, a piercing wail came from behind them accompanied by a surge of chilling negative energy rushing toward her and Benjamin.

"Shannon! Ms. Jensen! Are you abandoning us? We're a mother and her child!"
