If anything, Connor should confront the Jensen family instead.
On top of that, he clearly stated that the Jensens targeted the Grays because of the latter's human-trafficking history, rather than Shannon being heartless and cruel toward the Grays who raised her, as they claimed.
Obviously, the latter would taint her reputation, and Hector would do anything to keep her name clean.
Shannon quickly understood her brother's intentions and felt a warmth in her heart. She ignored Connor and left with Hector to the car.
The bodyguards continued watching Connor, leaving the latter with no choice but to hold back and stare at their retreating figures.
Meanwhile, Shannon entered the car, still not noticing that some faint negative energy had appeared at the spot where they had talked earlier. As Rachel's name was repeatedly mentioned, the negative energy slowly took on a visible form.
It was Rachel's ghost form.
She understood that she had died. When she saw Shannon's figure, her surrounding negative energy expanded, and she unhesitantly charged in Shannon's direction.
The negative energy, invisible to everyone's naked eye, dashed toward Shannon's back but was then slapped away by another ghostly shadow. Instantly, Rachel's spirit was sent flying like a volleyball, crashing to the ground as her dense negative energy noticeably diminished.
Having just settled into the car seat, Shannon noticed the commotion and turned toward Leah, who had appeared by the door at some point. She asked with a quirk of her eyebrows, "What?"
While thinking of that, he coincidentally walked over Rachel's spirit, which had been slapped to the ground. As if sensing something, she gazed quietly at Connor's silhouette and ultimately gave up her idea on Shannon.
Instead, she climbed onto his back.
"Connor, oh, Connor. This is all your fault. You shouldn't have abandoned me. I was your sister. From now on, I will continue following you, Connor. Don't even think about abandoning me again. Haha…"
Subsequently, Connor felt a weight on his shoulders. He brushed it off and assumed he was exhausted due to company matters.
He slowly walked away, passing a large building's glass exterior, where the wall faintly reflected his slightly hunched figure. Along with the ghostly shadow clinging to his back were limbs wrapping around him.
