Triston asked, "Have you ever handled spells associated with soul-switching?"
If it were dealing with evil spirits, the solution would be straightforward. They would simply force the spirit out.
But when it involved two living souls, care had to be taken not to harm them. Thus, things got more complicated.
"I've never handled any before, but I've read about it," Shannon replied.
Triston frowned. Though he had watched her past performances on the entertainment program and reviewed the recording of the soul-switching case, he was concerned.
He admitted that Shannon was impressively talented, but dealing with unfamiliar spells based solely on what she had read wasn't going to work.
He had been busy dealing with other cases and knew that Shannon and Skylar had succeeded in their rain-casting ritual. But he was unaware that Shannon had learned the spells right on the spot.
"Shan, you can't take risks when it comes to living souls," Triston warned her.
Then, he lowered his voice to continue, "Any damage to the living soul can impact the person's physical body."
Triston sounded so serious that Ethan and Winona grew anxious.
Triston was going to suggest that the couple let the Security Agency handle it. The captain at the Seastone branch had confidence in his soul-retrieval spell of living souls, but he was currently unavailable for a couple of days.
But Shannon calmly responded, "I understand. It's not a big issue."
Triston had to swallow the words at the tip of his tongue.
Not only could she not move them, but she also couldn't feel anything waist down. How could this be her body?
Ethan coldly watched Bonnie's hysterical state and said in a chilling voice, "You should know very well why you can't move.
"I heard from Wallace that you gave him the idea to break Winona's legs. You encouraged him to cripple her so she couldn't leave.
"You never thought you'd end up back in this body, suffering the consequences of your own actions, did you?"
Winona heard Ethan's words and clenched her fists tightly.
When she had first learned of the truth, she couldn't believe that half of her suffering had come from her best friend. And the reason behind it all was absurdly laughable.
