Before Hank could get another word out, Shannon had already bypassed him and stormed into the room. After that, she slammed the door shut with a bang.
Hank, unwilling to give up, knocked on the door.
However, as soon as Shannon closed her door, a soundproofing spell was activated, making it impossible for any noise from outside to penetrate the room, no matter how loud.
With no intention of entertaining Hank further, Shannon quickly changed her clothes and was about to close her eyes when her phone buzzed. It was a message from Benjamin.
Shannon was startled when Benjamin contacted her out of the blue. She even thought that she had mistakenly sent a message to Benjamin when dealing with Hank earlier.
She checked her phone and noticed that Benjamin had actually sent him a location pin.
Shannon: "?"
Benjamin: "I've run into a supernatural situation here. Are you free to come over?"
Shannon instantly sat up from bed.
She was willing to believe that others might be in trouble, but she had trouble believing that Benjamin would run into supernatural troubles.
However, Benjamin didn't come across as someone who would joke around with others.
Shannon glanced at the pin location that Benjamin had sent over and realized it was in the suburbs.
She took a moment to consider, then sent a message to Benjamin.
Shannon: "I'll be there in half an hour."
If it had been anyone else, she would have hesitated, but this was no ordinary person—this was Benjamin "The Golden Devil's Incarnate" Cooper!
Given Benjamin's usual care and consideration for her, the fact that she had recently used the thunder talismans imbued with his golden light, combined with the rare occasion of Benjamin seeking her for help, Shannon couldn't possibly refuse Benjamin's request.
She hastily stripped out of her pajamas, changed into a more casual outfit, grabbed her bag, and bolted out.
Hank had barely caught up with Shannon at the doorway when his phone suddenly buzzed. He checked the message from Cecily and instinctively glanced toward the villa, a flicker of hesitation crossing his face.
As he was about to head back to help Cecily, an unfamiliar car pulled up in front of the villa. He noticed that the driver wasn't their usual chauffeur as well.
Hank, who was about to turn, abruptly took several large strides forward and stopped Shannon from getting into the car.
"I don't believe this is our family chauffeur. Where do you think you're going in someone else's car?"
Hank couldn't believe how reckless Shannon was being. How could she simply get into a stranger's car?
Could it be that after appearing on a variety show and getting into the entertainment industry, she started mingling with some unsavory characters?
Even though he didn't like her, Hank couldn't just stand by and let her be led astray.
Shannon was baffled by Hank's behavior. She glared at him with a gaze conveying a hint of a warning and said, "Are you going to meddle in my affairs again, Hank?"
