Hector's tone was gentle and polite, but carried an inexplicable sense of pressure.
As a newcomer to the Mystic Regulatory Commission and Shannon's fan, Sirion naturally heard about Hector, her brother. The latter had no spiritual energy, but he'd managed to rise to a key position within the committee in just two years.
Sure enough, he was Shannon's brother indeed!
Though Sirion was secretly amazed, he wasn't a fool either. He could tell Hector was displeased about him bringing official matters to disturb Shannon during her time off.
In truth, he hadn't meant to disturb her, but this was his first time meeting his idol. Now that she'd spoken to him, he couldn't resist wanting to talk a little longer.
With that thought, he quickly adjusted his expression and respectfully replied, "That's right. There's already a liaison contact with the Mystic person-in-charge. Any updates will be promptly passed to you."
He'd thought that would be the end of it. Even if he couldn't chat with his idol, just being near her was a dream come true.
But even that small wish of his was destined to shatter.
After Benjamin slowly finished wiping Shannon's hand, he turned to Hector and said, "Since things are getting hectic at Mystic Regulatory Commission, why don't you head over to the office and come back when you're done?"
As a longtime friend, Hector naturally picked up on the implication in Benjamin's words. He was blaming Hector for bringing work "troubles" into the house and disturbing Shannon's time off.
Hector didn't want Shannon's time off interrupted either, but wasn't Benjamin being a little too petty?
Before Hector could respond, Sirion enthusiastically said, "Actually, remote work isn't an issue. I'll be staying in Seastone for now, so if you need anything, you can assign me, Mr. Jensen.
"And Mr. Cooper, don't worry."
Benjamin was utterly at a loss for words.
Seeing Benjamin remain silent, Hector sighed and silently closed his laptop. After getting up, he gestured for Sirion to follow. "Come with me."
Sirion watched as Hector picked up his materials and headed inside. His legs obediently followed, but his eyes couldn't help drifting back to Shannon.
