No matter what the array was, it needed to be dealt with.
Shannon still had to return to Wynthorpe Manor to continue her training, so she couldn't stay and monitor the situation. Therefore, the array would have to be left for the Special Security Agency to investigate.
After thinking it over, she decided to send a message to Mike, figuring he would be interested in it.
After all, the rabbit they used for testing when they were researching The Rift had still been on his mind. Apparently, the rabbit had cost him 20 bucks.
After giving Kai a good talking-to and sending him back to the demonic school, Shannon figured things would likely not settle down for Cornelius either.
So, instead of rushing back to Wynthorpe Manor, she decided to head to the school with Kai.
As expected, news spread quickly through the school the next day. It turned out that Cornelius from the special demon class was actually a half-demon!
The usually noisy Zaprath School immediately erupted into chaos.
Before Shannon had joined the special demon class, the class had always publicly declared that they did not accept half-demons. Yet, there Cornelius was, deceiving them and attending the class for years!
Deception was one of the things demons could not tolerate the most!
Therefore, as soon as Cornelius returned to the school the next day, he found himself surrounded by a group of demon students at the school gate.
They had blocked the entrance, clearly intent on not allowing him to set foot inside.
"You're a half-demon who disguised yourself as pure-blooded, constantly acting like a big shot! You even represented our school and took part in the college tournament! What gave you the right?"
"Right. He's a halfie who walked around acting like one of us. Hey, you. Did you think it was fun playing us for fools?"
"Enough about that. Just thinking about it repulses me!"
Since the reform, half-demons and pure-blooded demons now had equal rights within the school, and discrimination was prohibited.
However, there was still a problem—Cornelius had deceived them!
Not only had he deceived his classmates, but also the demon instructors and the entire faculty!
He assumed Kai might be attempting a sneak attack. He sneered and was about to sidestep to avoid it, but to his surprise, the fool stood right beside him, then turned and shouted at the crowd blocking the door.
"What the heck is this? Playing bullies in front of the school gate? Did you think we'd be afraid of you? Come on—come at us!"
One of the students recognized Kai and shouted, "This is none of your business, Kai. Walk away while you can!"
Shannon raised her leg and stepped forward, positioning herself on Cornelius' other side.
But before she could say anything, the demon students blocking the door were suddenly sent flying several feet away, as if they had been kicked out from inside the school.
As the crowd dispersed, they finally saw the figures standing inside the school.
The special demon class, led by Denim, along with the other nine students, stood at the entrance, their expressions cold and menacing as they looked at the crowd of unruly demon bullies.
"It is our business, isn't it? Who are you to run your mouths when we haven't said a word?"
