Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1913

Liza crept into Fermin's study.

He was at a company meeting, so the room was empty.

His desk was tidy, with just a computer, some files, and a family photo. The picture showed the three of them, looking happy.

Liza smiled softly.

Bert had passed peacefully, knowing his kids could hold the fort.

Even though he was gone, he lived on in their hearts.

Liza opened the drawer and found the potion. Then she snuck back to her room and studied the bottle. "Weird. No instructions?"

She inspected it, then sniffed it. "It's called a potion, so I should drink it, right?"

Figuring a sip wouldn't hurt, she took a gulp and grimaced.

It tasted awful, like chugging perfume. That explained why Fermin wouldn't invest in it.

Soon, drowsiness hit. She slumped onto the sofa and passed out.

In her dream, she felt floaty. It was a whole new experience.

Liza was confused for a moment. Then a voice inside told her this was a blind date, set up by Bert.

Drake was top-tier in status and looks. He was a rising star in business. Bert wouldn't have noticed him otherwise.

"To be clear, I'm not looking to get engaged. I'm only here because my family pushed me," Drake said flatly.

Liza's temper flared. "You don't wanna be here? Well, neither do I! Who do you think you are?"

She was used to getting her way. Nobody dissed her in public like that.

Drake frowned. "But my mom said you picked me."
