Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1912

Liza found the whole thing hilarious.

William was the first to call Fermin mentally ill to his face. Sure, it was true, but spelling it out was rude.

Fermin was touchy about it. Nobody dared bring up his issues.

"Dr. William, what were you thinking?" Liza visited William after college, bringing a fruit basket and lilies.

William glanced at the gift. "Thanks for not comforting."

"I'm serious," Liza said earnestly. "Fermin just has got a big ego. Don't take it personally."

"I do take it personally," William huffed. "I'm a big name in medicine. This apology's gonna make me a laughingstock."

"No way. You're their mentor. Half the big shots in medicine are your students. Nobody's laughing."

"Oh, so losing face in front of my students isn't embarrassing? They'll disown me."

"How about I try your product? I'll hype up your great invention."

"You? You got mental issues too?"

"No."

"You don't get it." William grabbed his bag. "I'm a wandering healer, not some shady dealer. One day, my invention is gonna change the world."

Liza thought he sounded like a cheesy teenager.

William had already booked a flight out. As he left, Liza's curiosity about the potion grew. Earlier, she just wanted to cheer him up. Now she really wanted to know if it worked.

"Miss, heading home?" her driver asked.

Liza remembered the potion Fermin stashed in his drawer and grinned, "Yup!"

She had to see what made that potion so special.
