Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1755

Debra clutched her head. It was throbbing.

Different from the last time, she felt terrible and puked.

"How long was I out?"

"Three hours."

"Only three?"

"Your face looked pale, so I woke you up."

"Good thing you did."

If that dream kept going, she would have been lost in it.

"So, what did you see?" Chace asked.

She gave a bitter smile. "A lot, but just scraps. I went back to school and saw Marion, but I hated his guts. The rest is gone."

Unlike last time, the dream slipped away fast.

She pressed her chest. "I forgot something big and someone important to me. It's like two souls were in me. At first, I was me. Then she took over, running my body. You get that?"

Chace rubbed his chin, not quite understanding.

She stood up and left the apartment. Chace glanced at the snuffed-out incense.

Some scenes from days ago came back to him. When he found the incense in the ruins, Barton had found him and staked the Odom family's fate on a choice: swap the incense or watch them burn.

Even though Andrew wasn't running the Potter family anymore, he still had that kind of pull.

Chace chose the former but understood Andrew was the one important to Debra.

He just couldn't understand why Andrew chose to push away his true love, erase himself from her mind, and sever their ties.

It was cruel.
