The pressure hit Shelia like a truck. She could barely breathe.
It had been just one day, but Debra was now acting like a different person. Shelia found it hard to believe.
"Not handing it over? Swallow them then," Debra said, grabbing a handful of rhinestones from the ground and gripping her jaw.
Shelia yelped, pain shooting through her face.
"No!" She smacked Debra's hand away.
The rhinestones scattered.
She broke free and bolted, but some other people blocked the door. A few picked up the stones and closed in slowly.
"What do you want? This is illegal," Shelia thrashed. "Stay back! Let me out!"
She was desperate to escape, but there was no way out.
"This is illegal confinement. If I file a complaint to your principal, you're all screwed," she threatened.
Arcane Academy's rules were ironclad. Anyone who broke them would be severely punished. These rich kids would hate the shame if they got busted.
Shelia's screams filled the room.
Ten minutes later, a knock hit the door.
Shelia was a wreck. She couldn't spit out the stones, and her eyes were bloodshot from panic.
She looked up, hopeful, as the door creaked open.
A tall guy in a black tracksuit stood there. He had red hair, bronze skin, broad shoulders, and creased eyebrows.
