Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 84

"When is Zayn coming back?"

Lindsey had not spoken much these days. Without eating or drinking, her voice sounded breathless and slightly hoarse.

The maid was already at the door, ready to leave. When she heard Lindsey speak, she was taken aback by surprise. It was good that Lindsey could still speak. No matter what the reaction, having any sort of response was better than nothing at all.

"Young Madam, I heard that the Young Master is discussing a big project abroad these past few days. He should be back in two days. You should eat a little. Young Master will be heartbroken seeing you like this."

Lindsey did not even have the strength to sneer. ‘Heartbroken? Will he even feel bad?’

"Okay, you may leave."

There was a hot meal in front of her, but Lindsey had no appetite. Her stomach was feeling so uncomfortable that she could not swallow a thing.

The food on the plate slowly became cold and stale. Lindsey estimated that it was about time before she picked up the plate and staggered into the bathroom. She emptied the plate, then forcefully smashed it on the wall.

Looking at the sharp curved piece of white porcelain in her hand, Lindsey curled up a corner of her lips. Then, without hesitation, she pressed the tiny piece of porcelain on her wrist.

The bright red liquid dyed the porcelain piece red. In an instant, her wrist was covered in blood. Lindsey's eyes also seemed to be bloodshot, but she felt relieved.

The pain stimulated her numb senses as she sat leaning against the bathtub and laughed silently.

Her blood dripped onto the white tiles and blossomed into a harrowing crimson flower.

Feeling her body temperature gradually decreasing and her eyelids becoming increasingly heavy, Lindsey suddenly felt that death did not seem so horrible after all.

It might be good to just die like this.

She no longer needed to endure those insults and accusations. There was no need to live cautiously; no need to be misunderstood by the people she loved; no need to feel despair over and over again...

Before she lost all consciousness, Lindsey suddenly thought about the boy whose face she could no longer recall.

It was just a dream.

"Lindsey Juhl! Wake up! If you dare to die, I’ll make sure all the people you care about will be buried with you!"

In the darkness, she could hear a heartbroken voice.

Was that Zayn? Or was it someone else?

Lindsey did not have the energy to think about it. She just felt drained and wanted to sleep, but someone would not let her be.

She was shaken violently and felt so groggy that she felt she was probably about to die.

Suddenly, she heard someone crying and a whole bunch of other noises. Lindsey felt very cold, but she was being held in a warm embrace.

Her ears were filled with all kinds of noises as she struggled to stay awake, but she slowly slipped into the dark abyss. Perhaps she was really dying...

Just when Lindsey was ready to give up on herself, that voice rang in her ears again. "Lindsey Juhl! You’re not allowed to die!"

That voice was hoarse and overbearing with a hint of anxiety and tension.

Who in this world did not want to live a good life? Lindsey certainly wanted to.

She once thought that she had a warm family and a beloved husband, but then she realized that the heavens made a fool of her. The affection she had been striving for was what shoved her mercilessly into this abyss.

Somehow, all the grievances that had been hidden deep in her heart suddenly surged up.

Lindsey refused to remember who this man was, but she subconsciously wanted to nestle in his arms and cry.

Tears flowed down her temples as Lindsey vented in the darkness. She then felt the man's warm kisses on her eyelashes as he pecked her face repeatedly. That gentle feeling made her feel like she was a protected treasure.
