Fortunately, this sense of familiarity that kept haunting Lindsey as she interacted with Mr. Cooper was fleeting. Lindsey only froze for half a second before regaining composure.
Lindsey took out the printed documents from her bag and her fair fingers gently pushed those papers to the man beside her. "This is our company's summary of some of your specific requirements for this batch of products. You can take a look at the part we highlighted. After detailed discussion with our company's Technical Department and R&D Department, we can’t customize the current model of the robot vacuum."
As she said this, she shrugged her shoulders. With her movement, the cuffs of her light gray suit were lifted to her forearm, revealing her delicate fair skin. Lindsey pondered for a moment and added, "The size and performance of our current model are the best we can achieve after testing with the addition of the speakers. As for the additional changes, the aesthetics and performance will certainly be affected."
The man in front of her listened to Lindsey in silence. No one could see the flash of desire under his eyes that he had been suppressing for the longest time.
Just sitting beside her like this and listening to her talk was extremely satisfying and quelled the longing in his heart.
Lindsey could not see the look on Mr. Cooper's face under his getup, which covered every strand of hair. Thus, there was no way she could guess what was in his mind.
She waited for a moment. Mr. Cooper’s gloved fingers gently pushed the document in front of him back to Lindsey, then took his hands off the table and dropped them to his lap.
He was done reading it.
Lindsey was waiting for his response and was ready for this deal to go down the drain, so she just looked at those hidden eyes behind the sunglasses frankly.
The man in front of him tilted his head slightly. There was no way to know if he was also looking at Lindsey. He paused for a few seconds before speaking slowly, but the words that came out were very different from the reason they were sitting here today. "Ms. Juhl, have you always been so soft when it comes to business?"
The man's voice was hoarse and unpleasant, but the people present somehow felt a hint of indescribable...tenderness.
All except for the person being questioned, Lindsey.
Lindsey subconsciously recalled every word she just said. She only gave him a clear explanation and waited for him to answer. This was how she usually talked, so how was this soft?
Mr. Cooper leaned on the back of his chair because this position seemed to be most comfortable for him. At this time, Luke had somehow stuffed a cushion at his back.
Lindsey looked a little surprised. Just by looking at his appearance, she thought that Mr. Cooper’s identity was mysterious, as if he dabbled in shady business. She even secretly speculated whether he was a criminal.
Now when Luke stuffed a pillow on his back, Mr. Cooper just seemed so weak.
Lindsey suddenly thought of the other adjective she used to describe him earlier, “pale”.
Pale and weak. He seemed like someone who had just recovered from a severe illness.
Her heart suddenly jumped. Lindsey pursed her lips and did not speak again.
Mr. Cooper thought that Lindsey was upset because of what he said. It had only been a few seconds since, but he slowly said while leaning back on the chair, “Since it can’t be changed, let’s just leave it like that. Did you bring the contract?”
That last sentence was for his assistant behind him. His eyes were still fixed on Lindsey through his sunglasses.
Lindsey had a momentary doubt that she had misheard. This man did not even fight a little more or talk about the details of cooperation. The R&D staff that she brought along with her was just there for show.
The man beside her suddenly spoke again, "Ms. Juhl, do you still have any concerns?"
Lindsey immediately smiled and said, "No, I'm just a little surprised that you're so quick to sign it, Mr. Cooper."
The man looked at her classic polite smile and his voice was so light that it was almost silent, "It depends on who I'm dealing with."
Lindsey did not hear what he was saying clearly and subconsciously leaned a few centimeters closer. She looked confused as she asked, "What?"
"Nothing." Mr. Cooper quickly denied it. He paused for several seconds before he continued, "Ms. Juhl, if you have any questions regarding this contract, you can raise it."
What Lindsey thought would be an unusual game of tug-of-war became a quick show of truce before she even did anything, so whatever strategy Lindsey prepared beforehand was completely useless.
Lindsey had no choice but to read that contract again word by word before she reached for the pen and smiled. "I don’t see a problem with it."
She signed her name smoothly. The man's harsh and sharp penmanship and her gentle and elegant name were printed side by side on that paper.
The man waved his hand, stood up, and extended his hand to Lindsey. "I’m looking forward to working together."
