"Ask yourself this. It’ll even be hard for me to bring a child back by myself in her circumstance, so how did she do it?" Soren asked Lindsey as he leaned against the glass table with his arms folded.
Lindsey had thought about this before, but many reasons made her choose not to delve into the truth.
At this moment, looking at the gloom on Soren's face, Lindsey frowned and said, "What exactly do you want to say?"
"She approached me privately and wanted to make a deal with me." Soren did not plan to hide this. He wanted to tell Lindsey so that she would be more cautious of Ginny. "She wanted me to lend her 70% of the Guggenheims’ manpower in Germany. In exchange, she’ll tell me about Sieben's backstory and her relationship with the Moeller family...as well as the true identity of the man who appeared in the park last time."
"You didn't agree?" Lindsey asked him, but her tone was certain.
Soren's thick eyebrows raised slightly. "She found the wrong person."
Everything from the Guggenheims belonged to Zayn, whether it was manpower or money, so Soren would not and could not agree to this.
Although he said this, Lindsey knew that Soren was perfectly capable of making this decision if he wanted to. It might seem like Soren was merely Zayn's assistant, but Soren's responsibilities were much greater compared to Quentin. Many of the Guggenheims’ overseas businesses were managed by Soren directly, and some underground forces were under Soren's sole control.
Soren was absolutely loyal to Zayn, so he also had Zayn's utmost trust.
"I think that Ginny has changed in some ways, but if I were in her shoes, I might not be able to do better than her." Lindsey pondered for a moment and continued, "Soren, after she goes back to Germany, can you please just help her for me if there’s a need to?"
Lindsey's voice was sincere as she looked into the void and recalled the time when she was imprisoned by Liam Wilford. Ginny had risked her life twice to help her back then.
Even though Ginny never mentioned it, Lindsey knew that was the reason Old Master Moeller could not accept Ginny. Due to Ginny’s relationship with Terence, Ginny helping Lindsey escape had put a strain on the relationship between the Moeller family and the Wilford family. They were put in an awkward situation and the balance between the two families was nearly broken because of Ginny.
This was not a situation that a person in power, especially an elderly man with a strong desire for control, wanted to see.
As for whether Old Master Moeller accepted Ginny in the end, and why he gave the extremely important ring to Ginny, no one would ever know because he was dead.
Soren already expected Lindsey to say this, so he nodded. “I’ll ask my people to watch out for her.”
Thinking of Ginny's reason for insisting on going back, Lindsey could not help but ask, "Is Terence Moeller still alive?"
"I don't know." Soren shook his head. "The President has been secretly looking for Terence Moeller’s whereabouts, but there has been no news of him. Recently, there are many rumors in Germany, and many of them are about Terence, so it’s hard to tell how much of it is true. It’ll take some time."
Lindsey sighed deeply. "I think he’s probably not dead." If there was no definite information, Ginny would not have risked her life to go back.
"The Moeller family’s situation is very complicated. Even with Finn Moeller dead and Terence Moeller missing, one person couldn’t fully control the Moeller family." Soren's eyes had a slight mockery as he thought, ‘Jared Moeller is so ambitious. Unfortunately, his ability can’t match his ambition.’
No wonder Old Master Moeller neglected his eldest son and gave most of the power to Terence.
Soren never quite understood this. According to Terence's character, he would usually strike first rather than be passive and take a beating. However, it was surprising that Jared was the one who made the first move.
A third-party observer would only look at the wealth of the Moeller family. They would lament at the tragic fight between the Moeller sons and would wonder why the Moellers would fight each other to the death.
Lindsey almost screamed. Her apartment was on the seventh floor and she did not have a balcony, so why would a human shadow appear outside her window in the middle of the night?
She tightened the covers in her hands and gulped. She was terrified as she slowly reached out to grab her phone that was on the bedside table.
The shadow outside disappeared in a flash. Lindsey’s eyes were affixed on that spot as she was afraid that the shadow would suddenly appear again.
Luckily, it did not. She held her phone, which felt slippery due to the cold sweat on her palm.
"Who should I call..." Lindsey bit her lips and was extremely scared. Her mind was blank.
She scrambled to turn on her screen while she paid attention to the light on the floor under the curtains.
Lindsey dialed Soren's number because he was the closest to her. She covered her mouth under the quilt. As soon as the call was connected, she whispered into the phone. "Someone’s outside the window!"
Soren, who had just fallen asleep, rolled over and sat up when he heard this. His sudden movement disturbed Sieben, who quickly opened her eyes and got up with him while she looked around with vigilant eyes.
"What's wrong?" Sieben looked at Soren with shock and uncertainty.
Soren only looked out the window and raised his free hand to gesture for her to be quiet.
