Soren's only remaining sanity vanished. Every muscle in his body was tense and he was stiff, but his breathing seemed suppressed.
Sieben seemed not to have noticed Soren's change in posture and kept touching him all over the place. Her glimmering eyes under the dim light had a playful and sultry light in them.
Soren took a deep breath and suddenly held onto Sieben's hand tightly while he pulled her into his arms.
His voice was so husky and deadly sexy when it fell in Sieben's ears.
"Stop playing," Soren said.
Sieben gently licked his earlobe and felt the man's shoulder move abruptly. Finally, she laughed cheekily in satisfaction.
"I wanna eat you so badly." Sieben leaned in close to Soren's ear and said one word at a time.
Feeling her breath on his ears, Soren desperately restrained the impulse he felt. His palm that was against Sieben's back gently caressed her as if this would make him feel better. "Stop fooling around, you’re still not fully recovered yet."
When Sieben heard this, she immediately grabbed onto the loophole in his words and said unyieldingly, "Then does that mean if I'm not injured, we can..."
Soren paused and was stumped by her words. He was speechless for a while.
Seeing him look so defeated, Sieben was even more satisfied and pursed her lips. She closed her eyes and found Soren's lips, then gently nibbled him as she said, "If you don't say anything, I'll take it as a yes!"
Soren looked at her with an indistinct expression perhaps because he was really considering following his impulse. In the end, he tightened his grip on her and pressed her head onto his chest, then said, "Just go to sleep!"
"Fine..." This time, Sieben stopped messing with him and hugged his neck. The two of them were stuck together like conjoined twins as they laid on the same pillow.
After a long time when Soren thought that Sieben had fallen asleep, a delicate voice suddenly came from his embrace, "Sorie, can you stop your little guy from rubbing against me?"
She was obviously playing with fire.
Soren chose to ignore Sieben and rolled onto his back, but his hand was still firmly holding her back.
This seemed to be a calm and quiet night, but many things silently changed.
The next day was the fourth day that Sieben had been hospitalized for her mild concussion. Although it was not serious, Soren was worried and wanted her to stay in the hospital for a few more days of observation since she made an accidental recovery from her previous brain injury. However, Sieben did not want to and kept crying to go home. In the end, Soren had no choice and finally agreed to take her home.
Lindsey wanted to go to the hospital in the afternoon to pick Sieben up with Mrs. Wendy, but in the afternoon, she was interrupted by a phone call from Ginny Young.
"Lindsey, I’m leaving soon." This was the first thing Ginny said over the phone.
Lindsey did not understand what Ginny meant by "leaving" and asked, "Where are you going?"
Although Lindsey would visit her from time to time and they would see each other when they had the time, they did not meet up often because Lindsey was busy with all sorts of things every day and her free time was really limited.
Since the previous incident, Ginny’s childishness vanished and was replaced with coldness and sharpness. At times when Lindsey looked at Ginny, she would feel that Ginny was very stern and deep even though Ginny was a lot softer when they were together.
Lindsey did not want to go into it especially because Ginny was her good friend.
She did not feel that Ginny would act impulsively with a child, but even though Ginny had enough strength and ability to confront Jared Moeller, Lindsey was still worried for her.
Before her anger subsided, Ginny said in a soft voice, "I’ll be fine. Andy will be fine too."
Lindsey suddenly realized that she did not know when this girl had changed. Ginny used to pretend to be timid but was actually loud when she spoke. She was a reckless girl back then. Now, she spoke so softly as if she had always been so gentle.
‘That’s not right...how can a person's character of more than twenty years change so much in such a short period?’
How much of a blow was Terence’s accident to Ginny?
Lindsey suddenly dared not imagine what Ginny would do when she went back to Germany.
Before Lindsey said anything, Ginny said in a flat tone, "Lindsey, do you have time? I want to see you."
Ginny did not say anything else, but Lindsey somehow felt that this was a farewell.
