Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 619

Sieben responded by tilting her head to the side and pouting. "Hmph!"

Lindsey looked at this side of Sieben and silently sighed. ‘She’s still the same as before she recovered…’

After watching Sieben and Soren's interaction for a while, Lindsey still felt the love between them and felt that it was worth the trip seeing them so cute together.

Before Lindsey left, Sieben tugged on Lindsey's clothes and said that she wanted to go home and that the hospital was boring.

Soren held his forehead and was helpless. "The doctor said that you need to stay for at least a week, so you can’t go home."

Sieben looked like she was about to cry again, so Soren hurriedly changed his tone. "Four days, nothing less. You have another checkup tomorrow, if everything’s alright, then I’ll take you home."

Only then did Sieben smile brightly. Lindsey almost laughed out loud seeing how fast Sieben changed her expression.

Once Lindsey came out from the hospital, she stood at the entrance for a while before walking towards the parking lot. She habitually touched the small crack at the corner of her mouth with the tip of her tongue, and it hurt a little.

The sun was still on the horizon and was setting slowly. It was getting darker and Lindsey somehow felt a little lonely.

The people around her seemed to be doing well. Her brother had Yvette, and Sieben had Soren, even Zayn had a new love life.

Only she seemed to be busy with work and all sorts of drama every day, but she was essentially stuck in the same place.

Lindsey’s time seemed to have stopped on that gloomy day when she agreed to sign the divorce agreement. After she severed herself from the past, she found herself standing alone at a crossroads, staring into a void.

She thought that she had spent the last year getting over the divorce, and for a while, she thought that she finally did, but looking back, she realized that she had not really gotten over it.

Lindsey was too guarded whenever a stranger approached her and politeness was her armor that firmly guarded her heart.

‘Maybe I should try to start over?’ Lindsey thought.

However, the thought of spending time with a complete stranger, or a familiar person that she was never romantically involved in, eating, shopping, and dating, was something Lindsey felt repulsed by.

‘I can't do it!’

In her lifetime, she spent two-thirds of her life chasing after one man's footsteps. He was her homme fatale. She gave all of her passion to that man and had no energy to start over again.

"Hello!" A voice suddenly came from behind Lindsey, interrupting her thoughts. "Hello, do you need help?"

Lindsey turned around and looked over. Only then did she realize that she had been standing in front of the hospital for too long, and the security guard inside came out thinking that she needed help.

She regained composure and smiled at the guard. "I'm fine. Sorry, I was a bit lost in thought." After saying that, she blinked her somewhat moist eyes and turned to walk towards her car.

By the time Lindsey got back to Opal Suites, the streetlights were turned on. Today, Lindsey remembered to call Mrs. Wendy beforehand, so no one rushed her back.

Lindsey got to the entrance of the neighborhood and parked her car. When she got out, she found a familiar figure standing downstairs. Probably because she was lost in thought earlier, Lindsey was in a trance and mistook that person for Zayn.

It was not until she took two steps closer that she realized the man was slightly taller than Zayn, and his handsome face was even more striking. It was Arthur.

Lindsey did not bother to be euphemistic with him and said without hesitation, “Yes!”

Arthur was speechless.

It looked like he was very self-aware.

Even though he said that, Arthur still had to clarify himself. He thought hard for a while and finally thought of how to express himself.

"I don't want to fight for custody of Arthur. In fact, even if I bring him home, I’ll just get a nanny to take care of him because I don't have the time and energy to take care of a child myself. I've thought it over carefully. Instead of that, I'd rather leave him with you because you'll give him better care, and I can help him with my family matters. Consider this a small gift from me as his brother."

He said this slowly mostly because he wanted to pronounce it clearly so that Lindsey would have no trouble hearing his words.

Lindsey’s first reaction was disbelief. "You’d be so kind?"

Arthur smiled slightly and had a vague haughtiness in his expression. "Of course not."

Lindsey was so stunned by his blunt attitude that she even forgot what she was going to say.

"I do have a motive." Arthur clasped his arms and stood languidly. His eyes still did not move away from Lindsey's face. "Aksel needs to sign a family consent form. At the same time, he needs to accept his share of the inheritance."

Lindsey thought she had misheard and could not help but clear her ears. "Accept it? Are you mistaken? Is it not for you?"

Arthur looked at her like she was crazy. He also looked puzzled as he asked, "Why would I want his share of the inheritance?"
