Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 608

The two female police officers in the room looked at Lindsey's delicate face and were stunned by her beauty. At the same time, they felt sympathetic for her. No wonder that old pervert in the other room was so desperate to do it in the hotel.

"Ms. Juhl, can you please describe in detail when you were drugged?" The female police officer who led Lindsey into the room sounded gentle as if she was afraid that Lindsey would not be able to control her emotions and cry in the next second.

However, Lindsey’s response was completely unexpected. Lindsey frowned and recalled how she met those men who blocked her way when she left the seminar, how she was taken away, and what happened afterward. She remembered everything in detail. Of course, she left out the part with Zayn. She just mentioned that a friend who happened to be there saved her.

The police officer who handled the case sent Lindsey out and said while they walked, "Dale Wagner is involved in a serious case this time. If this is found to be true, the law will give you an explanation. Ms. Juhl, you can rest assured."

These were all obligatory words, but Lindsey still solemnly thanked her and walked to the door before she asked, "Is he arrested because of this?"

The police officer looked a little hesitant before she answered vaguely, "Dale Wagner is involved in multiple cases. During the investigation, it’s not convenient for us to disclose too much. Sorry, Ms. Juhl."

This meant that he was arrested not just because of Lindsey’s attempted rape.

Lindsey was just asking casually and did not mean to make things difficult for the officer. She nodded and signaled for the police officer to stay while she walked out of the police station by herself.

Since she woke up, her mind was a mess. Now that she had some free time, she could not help but start to let her mind run wild. She did not even notice that she bumped into someone after she left the police station.

Lindsey panicked and backed up as she lowered her head slightly. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

She hurriedly apologized, but after she said that, she heard a cold snort from a man over her head. "Don't you have eyes?"

A familiar voice said these harsh words. Lindsey lifted her head and looked right into the man's lowered gaze.

Lindsey subconsciously took a few steps back to pull some distance between them before she felt less of his oppressive aura. She looked at Arthur suspiciously. "What are you doing here?"

Arthur was rendered speechless by her question because he was never good at lying. After a pause, he said, “I wanted to talk to you.”

This man seemed to look for her every day, but Lindsey was not interested in what he wanted to say. When she heard this, she subconsciously wanted to leave.

However, Arthur blocked her path, so Lindsey could not avoid him. She asked patiently, "What is it?"

Arthur was not in a hurry. He pointed his chin to the front. "Let’s go over there and talk."

The place he pointed to was a quiet cafe. Lindsey looked around and thought that it was indeed inappropriate to stand and talk right in front of the police station, so she accepted Arthur’s suggestion. The two of them then walked towards the cafe one after the other.

Although there were not many people in the cafe at this hour, it was quite a big cafe with two floors.

Lindsey and Arthur were seated on the first floor and did not notice that on the second floor, someone’s face turned glum when he saw her and Arthur walking through the door together.

"You weren’t there at the dinner party with Hemera, so I thought something happened to you." Arthur found an impromptu excuse as he took a sip of the coffee that he randomly ordered earlier so that he did not seem so abrupt.

Since Lindsey woke up, she did not recall the company dinner that she was supposed to attend last night. Now that Arthur mentioned it, she suddenly realized that she should give Shaun an explanation.

She also did not know how those people explained that she did not attend the dinner party yesterday.

After all, Lindsey was one of the project leaders and had some involvement in this. Lindsey secretly thought about how to explain it while she said distractedly, "I had some things to attend to, so I went straight home."

Arthur did not say anything. He just picked up the coffee that did not seem very authentic to him and took another sip.

There was another awkward silence. Lindsey finally could not bear it and said, "Mr. Arthur, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave." She was not in the mood to drink coffee with anyone at the moment.

Arthur clenched and unclenched his fists. In the end, he just nodded and said, "Mm, okay."

The whole encounter had only been about ten minutes. After the two of them left, the man sitting on the second floor of the cafe watched their departing backs and stared at Lindsey until she left in a taxi. After that, his brows finally loosened slightly.

Across the table, Felipe Jipson looked at Zayn intriguingly and raised his eyebrows. "What a rare sight! I never thought I’d see Mr. Guggenheim being jealous."

Zayn did not admit nor deny it. He only said in a deep voice, "This person's identity is special, but he somehow appeared in Atlantic City. Who knows what his motive is?"
