Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 596

Once the nurse heard that Sieben was awake, the ward instantly became a little messy because the doctor and nurses were busy doing some routine checks on Sieben.

Soren and Sieben were separated by these people. Sieben felt a little uncomfortable because she did not like hospitals and did not like being surrounded by a group of strangers. She disliked being so defenseless and showing her vulnerability in front of others. She subconsciously looked at Soren and found that he was also looking at her with so much tenderness under his eyes.

Her tense muscles inexplicably relaxed and Sieben held back the hatred she felt. It was not until the ward once again became quiet that she faintly exhaled. She was petulant and muttered, "What is there to check anyway..."

While she said that, she raised her hand wanting to touch Soren’s stern face that was next to her. Before she could touch it, her palm was held by a warm hand.

"Don't move!" Soren looked a little serious.

When Sieben woke up, she did not know if she should cry or laugh. Since Soren was holding her hand, she scratched his palm unconsciously as it was a familiar and natural little action. She was unaware of it and complained, "Why can't I touch you?!"

Soren placed her hand under the quilt and carefully covered it up again. He glanced at her when he heard that. "You can touch me once you've recovered."

Sieben could never control her strength, especially around Soren, so Soren was worried that she would hurt herself somehow if she moved.

She just rolled her eyes at him and interlocked her fingers with his.

Soren froze for a moment and looked up at Sieben, who also happened to be looking at him. Her eyes were clear and the usual dependence and naivety that he was so used to were gone. Instead, there was clarity. Soren's heart shook and he felt apprehensive all of a sudden.

"What's wrong?" He asked. A certain conjecture in his heart stirred, so he unconsciously clenched Sieben's hand tighter. He was surprisingly nervous and anxious.

Sieben looked at him for a full three seconds before she spoke. Her voice was a little raspy and had a nasal tone. "Come up."

"What?" Soren thought he had misheard.

Sieben tugged on his hand and pulled him towards her. She repeated in a serious tone, "Come up."

A person's temperament and demeanor were simply one’s soul.

The naive, silly, and childish Sieben used to have such a simple and harmless look in her eyes. When she was out of that state, her eyes were so deep, which were strange yet familiar to Soren. That look made Sieben seem like a completely different person.

Soren was in a momentary trance. He looked at Sieben and gradually understood in his heart what just happened. What he had been blindly hoping for all this while somehow came true out of the blue.

However, Soren was not delighted. He was even a little nervous and worried.

Sieben saw that he hesitated to move and became a little impatient. She whined the way she used to and tugged his arm while she pouted. "Hurry up!"

After saying that, Sieben wanted to vomit from hearing her own tone and did not even realize that she was being petulant to Soren.

However, these words somehow worked. Soren finally came out of his trance. Without too much hesitation, he threw his jacket to the side and rolled over to lie next to Sieben.

Soren was a little stiff while doing that series of actions, so his usually agile body looked a little funny.

Sieben placed her hand on his chest while Soren adjusted her posture. The distance between the two people became very close.

"What are you thinking about?" Sieben asked against Soren's ear. Her voice was low as she whispered. When Soren heard that, his ears tingled.

He held Sieben down and his chin subconsciously rubbed the top of her head before he slowly spoke, "When did you recover?"

In fact, he should have gotten the neurologist who had been helping Sieben with her condition and treatment to get a more professional affirmation to be completely sure of it.

However, Soren held back. He knew that Sieben did not want to be treated like a large specimen with countless examinations and questions for her as soon as she woke up.

Sieben's fingers were intertwined with his as she gently poked his chest rhythmically. "When I first woke up, I didn’t know what happened. I was just thinking which son of a b*tch dared to hit me on the head...then I saw you and slowly remembered everything."

After saying that, Sieben could not help but smile. "It was like a dream, a very long dream..."

She was so frank that Soren was a little speechless. He paused for a few seconds before he said, "Then...why did you ask me to come up?"

Sieben thought that he was going to say something else, but ended up saying this after a long pause. She then asked him back, "So you were just going to stand there all night? Don't we always sleep like this anyway?"

Soren was even more at a loss for what to say. He was never an eloquent person to begin with. Before Sieben’s intelligence regressed like a child’s, they were not that close to each other. How should he explain their closeness and his care for her during this period?

‘And those…other things...’ Soren could have clearly pushed Sieben away whenever she came close to him, but every time, he indulged in his heart’s desires and kept telling himself that he would push her away the next time she kissed him...

Soren was at a loss for what to do.

Sieben did not notice his discomfort and guilt. She just leaned on Soren and said, "What are you thinking about? Why do I feel like you’re not happy at all?"

"Really?" Soren subconsciously wanted to deny it. The words came to his mouth, but he swallowed them. He pulled some distance between them to look at her. The overhead light that he had turned off earlier was somehow turned on by some nurse.
