Sieben had one hand on the tree trunk as she stared in the direction of the man with murderous intent in the bottom of her eyes. Lindsey saw it and was startled.
Lindsey wanted to ask Sieben if she was okay, but at that moment, she did not dare to speak.
The man slowly stood up. Lindsey originally thought that he would pester them, but he saw the man's complexion changed several times. In the end, he reluctantly said to Sieben, "They already found out about your existence. Even if you don’t want to go with me, you should protect yourself!"
After saying that, the man took advantage of the dense cover of the trees in the park and ran while he dodged here and there. In a few moments, he could not be seen.
Seeing him leave, Lindsey hurriedly went forward and took Sieben's hand as she sized her up. She held her hand uneasily on Sieben's forehead and looked anxious. "What happened? Where did you get hit? Does it hurt? Okay, let’s not look at it. Sieben! Tell me, where does it hurt?"
Lindsey was worried that this child would become more silly after this blow.
Sieben stared in the direction the man left and did not withdraw her gaze until the person was gone.
After she retracted her gaze, Sieben looked at Lindsey and moved her lips, but no sound came out. Then, her eyes flipped backward and she suddenly collapsed in front of Lindsey.
Lindsey subconsciously caught Sieben, but because of her weak arms and legs, they almost fell to the ground together.
Dezi ran over to them at some point. When he saw that Sieben had passed out, his lips were tightly pressed together. He then reached out his short arms and tried to help Lindsey to pull Sieben up.
"Sieben!" Lindsey kept calling out to Sieben, but Sieben did not respond. She had to suppress the panic and fear in her heart because the priority now was to get Sieben to the hospital.
Lindsey's legs were shaking, but she dared not stop. She freed one hand to touch Dezi's head and reassured the little one, "Don't be scared!"
Recently, she seemed to be saying this quite frequently. Before she could withdraw her hand, she heard another voice.
"Lindsey?"
It was Zayn's voice!
Lindsey's spirits lifted. Regardless of what happened before, the most important thing now was Sieben’s safety.
"We’re right here!" Lindsey shouted. She was holding up Sieben. An unconscious person was much heavier than usual. A few seconds later, Lindsey walked around the two shrubs and saw Zayn.
Besides Zayn, there was another person that Lindsey did not expect to see. ‘Arthur?’
Now was not the time to wonder why these two would appear here at the same time. Lindsey saw Soren, and for a moment, she did not care about anything else and shouted, "Soren! Soren!!"
The people present, including Zayn and Arthur's men, all saw that Lindsey was with a small child while she held an unconscious person over her shoulders.
After Soren saw the situation and ran over faster than Zayn.
"What's going on?" The three of them asked at the same time. Zayn and Arthur stood next to Lindsey while Soren’s face was glum as he came forward and took Sieben into his arms.
Lindsey briefly told them about the situation earlier. Seeing that Soren carried Sieben and was ready to leave, Lindsey quickly held Dezi's hand to follow them.
Zayn took a step back to avoid their hands while he shot daggers at Arthur.
"I'll send you there." Zayn did not say much and directly carried Dezi to the car.
Dezi was lying on Zayn’s shoulder and quickly waved at Lindsey with a tense face. “Mommy! Come!”
Lindsey took a deep breath and stopped herself from losing control of her emotions. In the end, she followed them.
Initially, Arthur still looked smug because this had nothing to do with him and looked like he was just there to watch the show, but his expression slowly changed.
He looked at Lindsey's departing back and was certain that this woman was probably terrified and at a loss. He then followed Zayn.
After getting into the car, Arthur instructed the driver, "Follow them."
In the car, Dezi was sandwiched between Zayn and Lindsey. Lindsey just looked out the window the entire time and could not feel at ease. Even though she was not crying, her eyes were still red.
Zayn looked at her and noticed that Lindsey’s hands were clasped tightly, so much so that her fingertips turned white. He reached out to separate her hands and reassured her in a deep voice, "It'll be alright..."
The man's voice was deep. Lindsey's heart was in a panic. Hearing Zayn's words, she nodded but was not comforted.
Zayn knew that Lindsey always felt guilty when it came to Sieben. Even though Lindsey never mentioned it, it was something that haunted her deeply.
