Before Sieben made her first move, she used her free hand to push Dezi to Lindsey's side. At that moment, Lindsey shielded Dezi behind her and looked nervously at Sieben.
Lindsey noticed after looking at their fight for a while that the stranger had no ill will towards Sieben. However, what truly surprised Lindsey was that this man’s moves were almost the same as Sieben’s.
This was the first time Lindsey saw someone fighting with Sieben. She was very swift and never hesitated, and was particularly good at moves that caught others off guard. Moreover, when Sieben made a move, she struck to kill, which was frightening for Lindsey to watch.
Lindsey only ever saw a group fight once in front of her high school back then. The group fight was a mess with people pushing and shoving each other, seemingly without any rules. This was the first time that Lindsey saw someone fight so smoothly with such graceful moves.
She unconsciously backed up and only stopped when she felt a tree trunk behind her. Lindsey covered Dezi’s eyes as she held him. Both of them watched the fight and unconsciously breathe even more faintly.
"Come with me!" The man dodged a sneak attack from Sieben and tried to grab her arm to control her. However, Sieben had already guessed what he wanted to do and slipped out at once.
While backing up, Sieben tried to kick the man’s face. Her voice was stern as she said, "Dream on! Who are you?!"
Sieben's actions, tone, and gaze made Lindsey forget that Sieben had a brain injury. The current Sieben was really cold. Her eyes were very deep and dark. Lindsey wondered if this was a unique scenario whenever Sieben encountered an opponent.
The man glanced at Lindsey and wanted to say something, but he seemed to have some scruples and did not say it after all. In this momentary lapse of concentration, Sieben kicked him in the chest, which caused him to retreat several steps. He landed right by Lindsey’s side.
Lindsey subconsciously dodged and tried to avoid him, but the man who was kicked by Sieben finally stood firmly and quickly reached out to grab Lindsey’s neck.
She instantly stopped moving. Her neck was forced back and she quickly pushed Dezi away. Luckily, the man felt that holding her hostage was enough and did not care about Dezi.
"Mommy!" Dezi took a few steps back and was in disbelief as he fell to the ground. He was immediately pulled up by Sieben, who pulled him behind her.
The man stood behind Lindsey with his fingers around Lindsey's neck. He looked at Sieben, whose eyes were wide as she was stunned and unable to speak.
"Sieben," the man gasped. That blow he took was really not light, so he had no choice but to resort to this sort of underhanded means to threaten her. "Come with me."
He still did not give up at this time. Instead, he held Lindsey hostage. Sieben usually would not think too much when she fought others. Now, she just watched as the man held Lindsey’s fragile neck like he could snap it like a twig at any moment.
Sieben was stunned and looked at Lindsey. She then looked at this stranger that seemed familiar to her when they were sparring earlier and wrinkled her forehead. “Lindsey!”
The man walked a few steps closer towards Sieben and only repeated one sentence, "Sieben, come with me!"
Lindsey could not move her head. The man’s fingers were like metal pincers stuck on her throat, so she could only tilt her head up. Her voice was extremely soft as she spoke, "Who are you? I know that you don’t want to hurt us, right? Let go of me first, then we can talk."
The man’s expression darkened, but Lindsey could not see it from her perspective. Sieben, who was opposite them, saw it clearly and subconsciously shouted, "Let go of Lindsey!"
Dezi stood there motionless. Lindsey blinked at him as she was afraid that the little one would do something reckless and rush over.
He probably read the meaning in Lindsey's eyes and stood there quietly. His small hands were clenched into fists behind his back while he glared at the man with hatred.
The man ensured that Sieben could not break free from his shackles. Only then did he whisper behind Lindsey, "Apologies."
Lindsey was released and the man pushed her forward, which almost made her fall flat on her face. Lindsey stumbled and stood firmly on her feet when she heard a startled cry behind her.
"Sieben!"
Then, there was a thud of heavy objects colliding. Lindsey immediately turned her head, but because she turned too fast, her body could not keep up with her head's movement, so Lindsey heard a crisp crack as she twisted her neck.
However, Lindsey could not care less about herself at the moment. She was frightened by the scene in front of her and her legs went limp.
The man's arm was bloody as he bent over and grimaced. Sieben probably hit a tree next to her. That sound earlier was from her.
Sieben shook her head and held the tree trunk to stand firm. That kind of hard blow was enough to give a normal person a concussion immediately, but Sieben just stood up and shook her head a little. At first glance, everything seemed normal.
