Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 558

Mrs. Wendy knew that Dezi was sick and was anxious to see the child. When she saw Zayn, her heart settled and said, "Zayn, how’s Dezi? Where’s Lindsey?"

However, there was no response. Mrs. Wendy changed out of her shoes and went over to take a look, only to find that Zayn had fallen asleep while sitting on the sofa with his arms folded.

‘He must be exhausted...’ Mrs. Wendy made a gesture towards Sieben and Soren who were following behind her, signaling for them to keep their voices down.

She first went into Dezi's room to check on the child and found that his fever had subsided and that his clothes were dry and fresh.

When Mrs. Wendy moved, Zayn's eyes twitched and he woke up.

The moment Zayn opened his eyes and saw Mrs. Wendy, he was a little surprised. The blurriness in his eyes quickly faded and he looked awake. "Aunt Wendy? When did you guys come back?" After he said that, he saw that Sieben was looking around at Lindsey’s bedroom.

Zayn hurriedly stood up and said, "Don't make any noise. She just fell asleep."

Sieben carefully closed the door and tiptoed over.

Zayn rubbed his temples. The exhaustion on his face was undisguised. "She’s been busy all night, so let her get a good sleep."

When Mrs. Wendy regained consciousness and found out that Dezi was missing, she was so frightened that she passed out again. This time, she knew that Dezi had been rescued, so her heart finally settled down.

She did not care what happened as long as Dezi was back home safely. Nothing else mattered.

"Zayn, you should also get some sleep. There’s a bed in the study. I just cleaned it two days ago, so go and rest for a while. I’ll prepare dinner." Mrs. Wendy pushed his shoulder.

However, Zayn did not move and said, "It’s alright. I'll go first."

After saying that, he picked up his jacket that he placed to the side and put it on, then took Soren with him and left.

Mrs. Wendy did not stop them, so she just nagged on about how he should take good care of himself, then watched them leave.

Once Mrs. Wendy got back home, she sighed deeply. "When will this ever end…"

Sieben could not understand what Mrs. Wendy was saying. ‘Why did she want the day to be over? Was it not a good day?’ Then, she smelled the aroma coming from the kitchen and tugged on Mrs. Wendy's sleeve. "It smells so good!"

Mrs. Wendy looked at Sieben's nose that was sniffing around like a greedy puppy and felt that it was also a blessing for Sieben to live happily like this.

Lindsey made some chicken soup earlier. Mrs. Wendy saw that it was almost done and turned down the fire, then nimbly made another dish. She then looked at the time and woke Lindsey up.

Lindsey only slept for a couple of hours, but she felt completely refreshed. She also felt less tired and more energetic. When she got up, she did not see Zayn and paused for a moment, but she did not say anything and walked towards Dezi's room.

However, before she reached the door, she heard someone talking inside. It was Sieben.

"Did you just speak?" Sieben sounded amazed. "Can you say it again?"

When they saw Lindsey, both Sieben and Dezi’s faces lit up. Sieben jumped up and took Lindsey's wrist. "Lindsey! Dezi just spoke!"

Earlier, Lindsey could not hear their conversation clearly and thought that she was mistaken. When she heard Sieben, she froze, then looked at Dezi incredulously. "Really?!"

Dezi blushed and lowered his head. He was not sure if he spoke just now and was afraid of letting his mom down.

Sieben was dancing on the side. "Really! I heard it with my own ears. He said ‘pain’. Oh right, I accidentally squeezed him a little too hard earlier. Maybe if I squeeze him again, he'll speak!"

She said this and was ready to do it again, but Lindsey hurriedly stopped her. "No, no, no...Sieben, take it easy."

Lindsey stopped Sieben, then went over and wrapped her arms around Dezi. She looked at Dezi with bright eyes and asked softly, "Dezi, you spoke just now?"

The little one in her arms nodded and Lindsey stroked his head. Her tone was unconsciously tender and doting. "Dezi is so smart!"

After she complimented him, Lindsey looked at his flushed face and said, “But you don’t have to rush it. Even though Mommy is very happy, we can take it slow. Dezi, don’t force yourself, okay?”

The little guy in her arms nodded again and opened his mouth, but he could not master the art of pronunciation and finally only let out a not very clear "ah".

Dezi obviously wanted to call her “Mommy”, but once he opened his mouth, the sound that came out was different from what he expected.
