Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 557

Lindsey looked nervously at Dezi, who was nestled in Zayn's arms. Dezi had been uncomfortable since he woke up, but he did not want to worry his mom and dad, so he did not say anything.

When Lindsey asked him, he opened his foggy eyes and could not say anything, so he gestured with his little hand, "Mommy, I'm dizzy."

Dezi had always been strong and healthy. Rather, Lindsey was the one who fell sick most of the time. She knew that Dezi must be unwell.

"Let’s go home first." Zayn could also tell and hurriedly carried Dezi to the car.

Lindsey was remorseful and quickly followed. They were all relieved to get Dezi back, but they had neglected him earlier.

The driver sent them back to Opal Suites. Zayn held Dezi as Lindsey followed from behind.

Zayn had already contacted the family doctor when they were in the car. When they arrived, the doctor had also just arrived.

"He’s a bit feverish and he said that he's dizzy." Lindsey held Dezi's small hand and looked at the doctor with a nervous face.

Dezi was in a daze from the fever, but he could feel Lindsey’s worry, so he shook her hand.

Lindsey squeezed his little hand and stroked his head. “You’ll be fine soon.”

His mother’s voice was always so gentle. Dezi wanted to tell her not to worry, but he could not speak.

The doctor hurriedly gave the little one some fever reduction medicine and talked to Zayn from time to time. Lindsey then realized that although Zayn did not take care of Dezi usually, he was very clear about the child’s situation.

Lindsey bit her lip and looked at the tall man standing there. For a while, she had mixed feelings in her heart. Since they came out of the police station, they did not need to worry about how to handle the mess.

At that moment, Arthur was being repeatedly questioned by the police officer in front of him. His patience was running out as he spoke in English, "Let me repeat this, that’s my brother!"

"Mr. Evans, this matter aside, your entry record is fake, right? How would you explain why you falsified your entry records when you came to Atlantic City? Do you have some kind of ulterior motive?"

Arthur clenched his fists and was extremely angry, but he abruptly laughed. When he laughed, all the police officers present were stunned for a moment.

His lawyer had arrived a long time ago, but these people just wanted to interrogate him without the presence of his lawyer, which made Arthur extremely upset. When was he ever treated like this?

"There’s no need to tell you about my itinerary." Arthur swept a glance at the three police officers in front of him with disdain. His posture was relaxed as he elegantly leaned back against his chair, as if that was not a small chair in the police station, but a throne.

Arthur said these words and refused to cooperate anymore. He just stopped asking and speaking, then looked at them condescendingly with his pair of light-brown eyes.

In Denmark, even the top leaders had to respect him, so who would have thought that he would end up here today?

It would also take some time for his lawyer to get in touch with the embassy.

Zayn could tell from her voice that she had barely any strength left and pressed her down on the bed. He then took Dezi’s clothes away from Lindsey. “I’ll do it.”

Lindsey wanted to say something, but Zayn was insistent and pulled the quilt over her. When Zayn saw that she was still struggling, he warned her in a deep voice. “Do you know how tired you look right now? Do you want to get yourself sick before Dezi recovers? If you fall sick from exhaustion, I’ll take Dezi away and he’ll be in my custody.”

She knew her own body and was indeed exhausted, but Zayn was not any better than she was. Lindsey also knew that Zayn was only saying that to scare her.

"I'm fine," Lindsey whispered in her own defense, but it was not very convincing.

Zayn looked at the dark circles under her eyes and her dry, chapped lips, then said, "Lie still."

The mattress underneath her was soft and comfortable. Lindsey did not feel so tired before she lied down and felt that she could still hold on for a while, but now that she was on the bed, she felt like she was sinking into it. She just felt so weak and in a short while, her eyelids closed against her will.

Lindsey heard the sound of the door closing in a trance, but she was so tired that she did not have the strength to open her eyelids to take a look and quickly fell asleep.

Zayn held Dezi’s clothes in his hand. He watched as Lindsey fell asleep in just a short while and sighed quietly. He then leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead before he turned around and walked out.

When Mrs. Wendy and Sieben came back, Lindsey was still asleep. Soren sent the two of them back. They only managed to come back because Arthur did not think of taking their lives.

When they opened the door, Zayn was sitting on the fabric sofa in the living room, motionless. He looked just like a statue without a soul.
