Lindsey was silent, but she kept struggling. Zayn did not want her to move, but she would not let him get his way.

Zayn cursed her.

He then moved Lindsey's hair from behind her and bit her neck.

"Zayn Guggenheim, are you a dog?" Lindsey was annoyed when she got bitten.

"You’re finally speaking." Zayn lingered at her neck and murmured like they were lovers. His actions were incredibly gentle.

Lindsey did not fear his brutal dominance, but she was afraid of such a gentle Zayn.

That was because she could still hate the cold, illogical, and abusive Zayn. Such a gentle Zayn, on the other hand, made her fall for him all over again.

But what would happen after she fell in love with him?

Even though she did not believe what Jenny told her earlier, Jenny was still a thorn in her heart, pricking her where it hurt.

Zayn could feel that the woman's struggling was gradually decreasing.

"I think that we both prefer this kind of punishment."

Zayn looked at Lindsey. However, after seeing the bruise on her shoulder blade, all of his burning desire instantly dissipated.

That was a mark from when he threw her across the floor last time.

Several emotions flashed across Zayn's eyes.

"I'm going to the study." Zayn suddenly got out of bed after saying that, turned around, and walked away without looking back.

Lindsey felt a little strange as Zayn suddenly stopped halfway. Even though she did not want him to touch her, she still felt odd seeing his restraint over these few days and his current unusual behavior.

She got out of bed and walked to the bathroom mirror, then took off her pajamas. She saw her young and beautiful body in the mirror, but there was an obvious bruise on her back.

So, Zayn did not touch her because the injury on her shoulder had not healed yet?

Lindsey thought she was overthinking and ignored the strange feeling in her heart. She then went back to lie on the bed.

However, she suddenly could not sleep even though that man was not around.

The project with Denarius came to an end for the time being. Lindsey hurriedly went back to Hemera, but before she warmed up her seat, she was already assigned a new task.

"This is the client’s information. Quickly familiarize yourself with it and do your homework in the next two days. The management wants you in charge of this project." The Director was displeased looking at Lindsey, but he still had to follow orders.

"What's going on? You’re given a new project as soon as you come back?" Ginny Young slipped next to Lindsey’s seat.

"It's probably because I'm too capable," Lindsey said seriously.

“Whatever! This time you were in charge of the Denarius project and should’ve been promoted or given a raise when you came back. Why did they give you a new project out of the blue?”

Lindsey did not think too much about it. She was only in charge of the Denarius project because of Zayn. If it was based on her ability, she still needed another three to five years of experience.

Moreover, she was the reason the Anton project fell through, so she needed to make up for it. Thus, she had nothing to complain about.
