Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 483

Lindsey’s throat was so tight that she could not speak. The tears from Dezi’s little face were uncontrollable. Her heart just seemed to be softened by these tears as she held Dezi tightly in her arms. Her voice cracked as she comforted the boy.

“Don’t cry, baby. Even though Mommy and Daddy are not together anymore, we still love you very much. You’re still our precious little baby. It’s just that Daddy won’t be living with Mommy anymore.”

Lindsey did not even notice the tears that streamed down her face. She just kept saying, "Daddy also loves Dezi. Even though he lives with another woman, Daddy won’t forget Dezi because you’re also his baby."

No matter what she said, Dezi shook his head incessantly and cried his heart out like he had been abandoned.

Dezi finally understood why his father did not come home, why they had to move, why his father often sneaked to school to see him but did not see his mother, and why his father told him to keep it a secret...

His small world only had a few people and things. Daddy and Mommy were the closest to him. He did not understand what marriage was, but he knew that now, Daddy was going to live with another woman and Daddy did not want him and Mommy anymore.

Dezi’s world seemed to be split into half, and the half with Zayn had collapsed.

He bawled his eyes out and Lindsey had no way to comfort him. Instead, she even cried along with him.

Mrs. Wendy, who was resting in her room, heard the commotion outside and walked out of the room.

When she saw Lindsey and Dezi sitting in the living room crying like this, Mrs. Wendy was shocked and rushed over without hesitation. “What's wrong? Why are you both crying?”

Lindsey lowered her head and raised her hands to cover her eyes. She just shrugged her shoulders to show how unsettled she was.

Mrs. Wendy saw Dezi’s face that was twisted from crying and also felt that her heart was being twisted. She had seen the news about Zayn and Ann’s engagement these past two days and was so exasperated that she could not sleep well. Now that she saw this mother-son pair crying like that, she understood at once.

Her eyes also quietly turned red as she slapped her thighs. "That brat!"

Mrs. Wendy reached out to hug Dezi, but the boy just shrank into Lindsey's arms like a frightened little animal.

Lindsey did not want to show her vulnerability in front of others, so she wiped away her tears and suppressed the sadness she felt before she lifted her eyes to look at Mrs. Wendy.

"Aunt Wendy, can you please call Zayn for me?"

Dezi was choking as he sobbed, so Lindsey patted his back to soothe his breathing. “Mommy will call Daddy now to prove that Daddy still loves you, okay? Please don’t cry...you're making Mommy sad too."

Little Dezi looked up at Lindsey. His long eyelashes were soaked with tears and his eyes were swollen from crying. The tip of his nose was also red.

He let out a small hiccup and his little body twitched. The tears in his eyes were still rolling down his cheeks.

When Mrs. Wendy heard Lindsey's words, she froze for a moment, turned around, and wiped her tears before she fished out her phone to call Zayn.

The phone rang for a while and was quickly picked up by the man.

......

Zayn and Ann’s relationship developed so smoothly that even Ann herself felt a little stunned. That was why she could not help but have doubts.

Ann's long fingertips pinched the small card on the bouquet and opened it slowly like it was a gift.

The familiar strong and thin handwriting read, “I hope you’re smiling when you receive the flowers. That’s what I long to see most.”

They were very cheesy and even a little crude, but they did not match the indifference that Zayn usually showed.

Due to that, Ann felt even more satisfied.

No one knew that such a reserved man like Zayn would have this side when he was pursuing a woman.

A smugness flashed across Ann’s eyes. She habitually took out her phone to type a coquettish text message. “Besides my smile, I have a lot of other things that you haven’t seen yet.”

She clicked send and casually clicked on her laptop. It was the news about their engagement.

The two of them had only been dating for two months.

When Ann thought about their so-called relationship, she still felt like she was dreaming. It was strange for a man like Zayn to profess his love, but that day, after she asked him out to dinner and sent a message to Zayn when she got home, Zayn replied to her message and added, "I feel happy when I’m with you. What do you think?"

Of course, Ann would not deny it and replied, "I feel the same."

Ann felt a little surge of emotion when Zayn sent the next message. "I think we’re very suitable for each other."
