Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 457

Lindsey’s tone was as natural as when they were not divorced.

Zayn’s hand that was holding Dezi tightened before he continued to walk forward as if nothing had happened. He also did not defend himself.

Lindsey walked behind Zayn and Dezi and beat herself up for running her mouth.

The two people did not speak again until they went upstairs. Lindsey opened the door and felt a little repulsed by the idea of letting Zayn in, but she looked at Dezi and finally let Zayn in.

Zayn casually took a look around and put Dezi down.

Mrs. Wendy came out and saw that Zayn was also back. She was very surprised for a moment and quickly regained composure. "Dinner will be ready soon. You guys can wait for a while."

Lindsey looked at Zayn, who was squatting on the floor and building blocks with Dezi, and felt uncomfortable. She then got up and went to the kitchen.

Zayn, who had been keeping his head down, looked at Lindsey walk away until she was out of sight.

When he turned back, he saw that Dezi was looking at him with unblinking eyes. Zayn stretched out his index finger and put it to his lips, making a silent gesture, "Shh...don't tell Mommy."

Little Dezi did not know why he could not tell Mommy, but he still nodded obediently.

"Good boy." Zayn had a light smile on his face.

Dezi was extremely clingy to Zayn, so much so that when Zayn expressed his intention to leave several times in between, Dezi would hold on to him and would not let go. Lindsey saw that Zayn wanted to leave so badly, so her eyes got colder even though this was also what she wanted.

In the end, Zayn stayed for dinner and played with Dezi for a while before Lindsey put him to bed. Then, Zayn could finally get away.

Lindsey pretended not to see Mrs. Wendy's look of desire to say something. She just took her phone and said coldly, "I'll send you out."

Zayn knew that Lindsey had something to say to him, so he nodded his head.

The door closed behind them. Lindsey and Zayn walked to the elevator, and while waiting for the elevator to arrive, Lindsey spoke in a dull voice, "I hope that next time, you’ll tell me before taking Dezi out. After all, legally speaking, you no longer have anything to do with Dezi."

Lindsey was silent all night, but when she spoke at that moment, her words were incredibly harsh. Zayn glanced at her and saw that Lindsey did not want to look at him, so he turned his gaze away.

"It looks like you haven't told Dezi about the divorce. He’s very clingy to me, so I feel that I have an obligation to spend time with him until he knows the truth."

"What obligation do you have?" Lindsey abruptly turned to look at him. "Your obligation ended the moment you got me to sign those papers. Don't forget that you were the one who gave up custody of the child." He gave up on her as well.

Lindsey stared at Zayn coldly and tried to find even a hint of pain and regret on his face, but there was none. Nothing.

There was only indifference that was enough to destroy all her hopes.

"But Dezi is still my child." Zayn was not as agitated as Lindsey was, but his tone was not good either.

In the end, he thought about it and said, "Do you remember the misunderstanding I had with Yvette last time? I originally dismissed that female employee, but yesterday, Yvette somehow ran into her at the hospital."

"Did she talk nonsense?" Lindsey frowned as well.

Shaun shook his head. "No."

"I don't know how to explain it." Shaun kept sighing. "After Yvette came back, I wanted to talk to her, but before I could, she said that she’s going home and hasn't shown up since. I called and asked her what was wrong, then she said that she just wants to be friends with me. F*ck that!"

By the end of it, Shaun cursed and looked frustrated. He had not confessed his feelings for her, yet Yvette said she wanted to be friends. No one would be able to accept that.

Seeing him like this, Lindsey thought about it and said, “Brother, is there still some misunderstanding between you both that you’re not aware of? I feel that Yvette is obviously very fond of you, but every time, she tries to avoid her feelings. Perhaps it’s more than just that misunderstanding?"

Shaun really did not think about this. He always thought that the crux of the matter was that incident and never thought that there might be something else.

"Brother, you should talk to Yvette," Lindsey suggested.

Shaun pinched the tip of his nose and paced around. He then turned around and picked up the t-shirt on his bed, then went into the bathroom to change out of the hospital gown he was wearing. He had a touch of determination on his face as he said, "Linds, please help me with the discharge procedures. I'll go find her."

Lindsey smiled. Without another word, Shaun left. She shrugged her shoulders and thought, ‘Fine, for the sake of my brother's happiness...’ Lindsey then found a nurse to do the discharge procedures.

After settling this, Lindsey saw that it was still early, so she went to the furniture store.
