Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 448

In reality, Zayn and Lindsey were divorced and they were discussing the distribution of assets.

How ironic.

Triggered by Zayn’s unintentional doting tone, Lindsey suddenly let out a low laugh and finally said after a long time, "Okay then."

All her thoughts turned into that simple sentence. The detachment and unfamiliarity almost pierced the eardrums of the person over the phone when Lindsey slowly said, "Thank you, Mr. Guggenheim."

There was a long silence. Even Soren’s heart was tense as he sat there on the side. Lindsey really knew how to agitate Zayn.

After a long time, just as Lindsey was about to hang up, Zayn’s restrained voice sounded, “You’re welcome. It’s yours in the first place.”

Her heartbeat stopped for a moment. He was truly able to act as polite as a stranger.

There was no need to continue the call. Lindsey was silent for a moment and took the phone away from her ear. Soren could see that she was emotional as she tapped on the screen to end the call.

Soren’s arms were folded. He looked at the paper on the table after Lindsey hung up the phone and did not speak for a long time.

Finally, Soren could not stand it any longer and coughed lightly to break the silence. "Umm..."

Soren did not dare to call her “Madam” anymore for fear of provoking her further.

Lindsey snapped back to her senses and did not notice that she was stunned for so long. “Huh?”

"Nothing, I'll take Sieben home if there’s nothing else." Soren stood up. His gaze fell on Sieben, who was playing with Dezi on one side. He then said goodbye to Lindsey.

"Let them play a little longer." Lindsey curled up her lips. Her smile was light and she did not look at Soren. "Sieben hasn't eaten yet, so you can wait here. I’ll go in and rest for a while."

After saying that, she did not wait for Soren to respond before she stood up and went into her bedroom. Besides looking a little dull, there were no irregularities about her.

Lindsey did not come out of her room again even after Soren left.

It was already late when Soren reported back to Zayn.

He did not just report about this matter, but other things as well.

"Madam is staying with Aunt Wendy and the child. There are no traces of other men living there. I stayed there for a long time today and Shaun didn’t come over."

Soren said seriously to the man in front of him who was listening carefully.

He described all of his observations about Lindsey’s current residence in detail to Zayn. After he was done, he touched his nose and could not help but feel like a creep.

However, the man in front of him who instructed him to do this in the first place was obviously even more of a creep.

"That’s it?" Zayn finished listening and tapped his finger on his desk.

Soren said apprehensively, "That’s all."

Seeing Zayn’s longing expression and the loneliness in his eyes, Soren felt a little heartbroken for Zayn.

Lindsey’s “Thank you, Mr. Guggenheim” left Soren a little terrified, let alone Zayn.

Soren thought that he would come back to see a furious Zayn, but he did not expect Zayn to be so calm and restrained. However, this side of Zayn was clearly more frightening.

There was a knock on the door. Soren retreated to the side as Zayn raised his voice and said, "Come in."

He was still as cold as ever and even sounded a little irritated. "Apologies, I have work tonight."

Ann was vexed, but her desire to conquer him became stronger. Her purpose was to break up Zayn and Lindsey, then she would destroy them both separately. She was adamant about getting Zayn.

She knew that Zayn was indifferent to the point of being cold, like an ice robot. Ann simply put away her flirtatious tone and talked about business instead.

"Mr. Guggenheim, you’re too aloof. I haven’t congratulated you properly for successfully getting Denarius out of this mess. I’m not sure if I can impress you with S.P.’s new collaboration with Denarius?"

After that, Ann added with a smile, "S.P.'s new project is the hottest right now in the industry and many companies are eager to collaborate with us."

The impatience on Zayn's face grew stronger, but he did not hang up the phone.

Half an hour later, at a revolving restaurant in Atlantic City.

Ann smiled as she swept a glance around. "You bought out the whole place? Mr. Guggenheim, how generous of you! Now I feel like we’re on a date."

The man on the opposite side of the table, who had his eyes on the wine glass, suddenly lifted his head. His eyes were as sharp as a knife.

Ann hurriedly covered her mouth. "Oops, that just slipped. Everyone knows that Mr. and Mrs. Guggenheim are very much in love."

She looked apologetic, but her tone was not bashful and her eyes were smiling.

The man across the table did not look too pleased after hearing her words.

Zayn lifted his glass and took a sip, then elegantly put it down again. He looked up at her. This time, he put away his frightening gaze. He said slowly, “We got a divorce.”
