Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 443

Lindsey felt inexplicably sad when she heard Mrs. Wendy said those words and hastily pulled Mrs. Wendy's wrinkled hand. "Of course you’re not a bother to us. I’m just worried that you won’t adapt well since you’ve been living in the Guggenheim mansion for so many years."

Old people were always a bit more nostalgic.

Mrs. Wendy held her hand and said, "Don't mention it. If I go back, sooner or later, I’ll die from anger because of that little brat. I might as well take care of you and Dezi."

She was still treating the nearly 30-year-old Zayn as a child and really loved him as her own.

This matter was finalized for the time being.

Lindsey was a bit tired. It was the kind of tiredness that exuded from her bones. Although she could not sleep, she wanted to go upstairs to rest since she had nothing else to do.

Before she could go upstairs, she heard the doorbell ring.

Mrs. Wendy stepped forward and looked through the peephole, then turned back to Lindsey and said, "It's Soren and Sieben."

"Lindsey!" As soon as the door opened, Sieben jumped in and her eyes lit up when she saw Lindsey.

Lindsey waved to her. "Have you eaten yet?"

Sieben looked back at Soren, then shook her head sincerely. "No."

"It’s already so late, why haven't you eaten breakfast?" Lindsey glanced at Soren. She was not as warm as before, but she was not cold to him either. "Sit down first. I'll ask Aunt Wendy to prepare some food for you."

This was exactly what Sieben wanted to hear and said cheerfully, "Thanks, Lindsey!"

Next to her, Soren also nodded slightly. "Thank you, Madam."

"I'm no longer your Madam." Lindsey lowered her eyes, so it was hard to see her expression. She then lifted her head again with a light smile on her face. "Just call me Lindsey."

Soren touched his nose and could not bring himself to call her that. He still felt more comfortable calling her Madam.

Lindsey also did not insist on him changing the way he addressed her immediately, so she changed the topic. "Why did you come here so early?"

Soren did not shy away and said directly, "I’ll follow you."

Lindsey was stunned. "You’ll follow me? What does that mean?"

"I'll be responsible for the safety of you and the Young Master, you can order me to do anything."

When he finished, he realized that Lindsey was frowning at him. "Is this Zayn’s idea?"

Soren nodded. "Yes."

"I don't need it." Lindsey's voice abruptly turned cold. "You're his subordinate. There's no need for you to follow me. I'll figure out my own way for my safety and Dezi’s safety."

"Madam." Soren tried to convince her. "There won't be anyone better than me to protect you and the Young Master."

Lindsey shook her head. "Soren, I’m not doubting your ability, but Zayn and I are divorced now and I have custody of the child. My child and I are completely separate individuals from him, and you’re his assistant. You understand what I mean, right? He's the one who wants the divorce and I've already signed the papers. So, to each his own. I want nothing more to do with him. Is he just trying to rub salt into my wounds by doing this?"

She did not hide the impact she felt from the divorce. Her tears almost fell out, but she held them back.

Sieben, who was sitting in the middle of Lindsey and Soren, looked at them both with nervous eyes. "Are you two fighting? Don’t fight..."

"We’re not fighting." Lindsey showed her a smile.

Little Dezi's stubby fingers turned to point at the tall man behind him.

Shaun stepped forward and picked Dezi up. "From now on, Uncle Shaun will come and pick you up every day, okay?"

As he said this, he fished out a piece of chocolate and waved it in front of Dezi.

The little person in his arms nodded as he wished, then took the chocolate from him. In the next second, he handed it to Lindsey.

Lindsey and Shaun froze for a second, then the two laughed in unison.

"Regifting, huh? This kid will surely be a stud when he grows up." Shaun praised while shaking his head.

Lindsey rolled her eyes at him. Her repressed mood all afternoon had brightened up a little.

She wanted to take Dezi from Shaun, but Shaun did not let her. "This boy is quite heavy now. He’s gained a lot of weight during this time."

"It's good for kids to be chubby." Lindsey looked at Dezi dotingly. Children were the cutest when they were tubby.

"Hurry up and go in, Mrs. Wendy made a lot of dishes today." Lindsey led the way.

Shaun entered the house before he put the little one in his arms down. He held Dezi’s hand and helped him to change his shoes. He asked, "Why did you suddenly call me over for dinner?"

"I have something to discuss with you. Let's eat first, we'll talk later."

Shaun looked at Lindsey's face that turned so haggard within a day and felt heartbroken.
