"Okay, thanks." Lindsey Juhl quickly packed up and immediately prepared a part of Anton's contract. She was very tense at that moment.
As soon as Lindsey left, a few women behind her got together and started to gossip.
"Why did Mr. Juhl call for Lindsey so often these days? He’s always asking her to do this or that. Even the Director didn’t show up so much in front of Mr. Juhl, right?"
"Right?! Even such an important contract like Anton was handed to her. Can’t you see what she means to Mr. Juhl?"
"I've heard a long time ago that they were up to something in Mr. Juhl's office. Is it true?"
"Who knows? She has those looks, so who knows how many dirty tricks she pulls out behind the curtains. Yet she still acts like she's so innocent and pure."
The more they gossiped, the harsher their comments. Zayn Guggenheim, who was standing and listening on the side, looked increasingly displeased.
Zayn said coldly, "Hemera's employees aren’t very capable, but they’re certainly great at gossiping behind people’s backs."
The few of them immediately kept quiet and went back to their desks. He was not their boss, but his words still sent a chill down their spines.
Zayn did not leave immediately. He just stood at the consulting department, which made everyone so nervous they did not dare to breathe loudly.
Half an hour later, Lindsey returned to the consulting department from Shaun's office and saw Zayn standing at her desk with downcast eyes.
He stood there looking especially prominent due to his height. The hair on his forehead covered his eyes slightly, so Lindsey could not see his emotions.
"Excuse me." Lindsey walked up to Zayn and had to tilt her head to look up at him because of her height. This posture was quite unpleasant.
"You finally came back?" Zayn crossed his arms across his chest and looked down at the woman in front of him. He saw that she was a little annoyed at his question.
"Zayn Guggenheim, are you on crack again?" Lindsey felt baffled by the obvious sarcasm in Zayn's words.
"Get out of my way! I need to work." Lindsey reached out to push Zayn away.
The man grabbed her wrist and sneered. "I've warned you so many times. Why can't you just remember?"
When Lindsey saw his smirk, she felt that something was wrong and tried to pull away, but she was tightly gripped by Zayn. In the next second, the floor spun around her as Zayn carried her on his shoulder.
This was the third time in just a few days!
Everyone's eyes were drawn to the both of them. Lindsey felt so humiliated, but in terms of strength, Zayn had an absolute advantage.
No one came up to help her as they were all stunned by this scene.
That legendary big shot was actually carrying Lindsey away? What was happening?
"Zayn Guggenheim! Put me down!" Lindsey was exasperated, but she did not dare to be too loud.
He did not listen to Lindsey’s pleas and took the elevator down to the basement parking lot. The empty space amplified Zayn’s footsteps. Every step he took was as if he was stepping on Lindsey's heart.
"Zayn Guggenheim, let go of me! I still have to work!" Lindsey made another attempt to struggle.
"Put me down, please? I have a very important task today. Can you just wait until after work to discuss whatever it is?" She slowed down her tone and tried to communicate with Zayn properly.
In response, Zayn opened the car door and shoved her inside. He followed in after her.
Lindsey’s chest hurt from the fall, but she forced herself to get up and tried to open the door to get out.
