Andre froze for a second. He blinked his eyes and said, "This morning, the Professor said that the hospital's smoke alarm was very sensitive. Once it’s triggered, everyone would definitely be drawn to it."
Lindsey knew it. Besides this, Andre’s mentor must have hinted at something else.
Otherwise, how could Andre, who felt that it was impossible to even contact Zayn yesterday, dare to save her today?
Lindsey pulled the car over and gently unbuckled her seatbelt.
Andre was puzzled and asked, "Ms. Juhl, what happened? Why did you stop?"
Lindsey sighed and pushed open the car door. She turned to look at Andre and said seriously, "Andre, thank you so much. You’re a good person and you’re different from all of them."
After saying that, Lindsey suddenly got out of the car. Their car was parked at the entrance of the hospital with not many people around.
There was a cold breeze, which made Lindsey feel a little cold, so she hugged her arms tightly. She looked at the empty street and suddenly shouted, "Liam Wilford! I know you’re out here! Come out!"
Lindsey knew that she could not run away wearing these clothes. She did not even have the strength to take Liam down with her. After she shouted, there was a deafening silence for a few seconds before a light chuckle rang in her ears.
She raised her eyes and looked over. Her gaze was stern. "Is it fun?"
‘Is the game of cat and mouse fun?’
Liam just hooked his lips into a smile and did not speak. Andre, who followed Lindsey out of the car, was stunned and angry.
The one behind Liam Wilford was his mentor, who looked at Andre with a pained expression and said, "Andre, you really let me down."
"Professor!" Andre heard this and looked aggrieved and puzzled. "What we’re doing is wrong! Why don’t we just stop?"
The Professor was an old man who was well over 50 years old. He smiled and shook his head. "Andre, you don't understand."
Andre still wanted to say something, but Liam suddenly raised his hand and moved his index finger slightly. Suddenly, people who were hidden in the darkness came forward to restrain Andre.
Lindsey wanted to stop them, but she could not even protect herself, let alone others.
"It's time for you to take a break," The Professor said as he took Andre and prepared to leave, but Liam raised his hand to stop them.
"Wait." Liam took a few steps forward and was just a few steps away from Lindsey.
"I really don't understand." Liam looked confused. "We clearly had an agreement a long time ago when I saved you back then. You were the one who promised to give your heart to Sophie in order to get revenge on Zayn. So why are you trying to do everything you can to escape?"
Lindsey laughed at his words and said, "Liam Wilford! I did promise you, but..."
"Stop talking." Liam interrupted the rest of her words. His voice was gentle as he continued, "There, it's clear that you promised me and I did not coerce you into anything."
"You *sshole!" Lindsey cursed at him.
Liam's purpose was just to induce her to say what she just said and did not let her speak further.
Someone came forward and gagged Lindsey's mouth, which turned the rest of her words into meaningless whimpers. Then, Lindsey was dragged away along with Andre.
After Lindsey left, Liam walked over to the car. The car window lowered as he approached and revealed Sophie’s face.
"There's no checkup, right? You just wanted me to see this?" Sophie looked at Liam as her chest heaved.
She would stop all of this herself.
......
It was getting late. Zayn put down the wine glass in his hand and looked around at the fancy-clothed guests that were networking as a flash of disgust crossed his eyes.
Shaun walked over to Zayn and glanced at the empty wine glass in front of him.
"Tsk tsk, you really have a death wish," Shaun said as he downed the wine in his hand.
Zayn did not want to care about him. He still felt that the old Shaun who looked at him with anger was more soothing to look at.
They were at a networking party hosted by Terence Moeller. Of course, Liam Wilford was also invited, but he did not show up.
Although Shaun and Zayn were now in agreement on certain things, they still disliked each other. Thus, Shaun only came over to say hello and agitate Zayn before he left.
Just before he turned around, Shaun saw Zayn pick up the phone he was holding and his face turned glum.
"What's wrong?" Shaun subconsciously asked.
Zayn looked up at him and said, "Mohrbacher Hospital."
After saying that, Zayn could not care less about Shaun and rushed out.
Shaun froze for a moment. After reacting to what Zayn said, he hurriedly put down his glass and ran out.
