Who was the one who broadcasted this missing person notice? Mr. Guggenheim?
The person Lindsey had asked Andre to inquire about was called Zayn Guggenheim. Coincidentally, this guy also happened to be a Guggenheim.
"My God!" Andre could not imagine what was Lindsey's real background and gulped before he turned around and pushed the door in.
Zayn's hospital room.
Shaun raised his hand to turn off the TV and the room was instantly quiet again.
"Are you sure this will work?" Shaun raised his eyebrows and felt that this might be a little unreliable.
Zayn had already gotten dressed. Just by looking at his face, no one could tell that he had a life-threatening injury.
"Money does wonders." Zayn lowered his eyes. The picture of Lindsey earlier pricked his heart. It had not even been two months, but it felt like he had not seen her in ages.
"Without trying, how do you know if it doesn’t work?"
Shaun exhaled a long breath. This was actually his idea at first. Liam wanted to hide a living person, so it would be impossible for Lindsey not to come into contact with anyone. As long as someone saw Lindsey, then they had hope.
He originally intended to discuss it with Zayn. After all, it was like searching for a needle in a haystack. A large reward would make people feel moved and would also give people an outlet to present false information.
Shaun did not expect Zayn to be so efficient and put his plan into action in one afternoon.
"Liam Wilford is very cunning. I sent my men to keep an eye on his people and often lose them, or my men would simply not return. Liam Wilford also has a lot of businesses and properties. I’ve already searched all of the possible places but still can’t find Lindsey."
When Zayn said this, his tone was frank as if he was talking about the weather. Shaun could not hear the despair and disappointment in Zayn even after Zayn made all this effort yet ended up with nothing.
Shaun had to admit that if it was him, he might not be able to be like Zayn after all this time. Zayn could even still plan properly and hold on to the hope that Lindsey was still alive and waiting for him to save her.
The missing person notice and the large reward were not only broadcasted on the mainstream media in Germany, but also on all social media.
After just a few hours, it immediately became the talk of the day. From senior citizens to primary school kids, everyone was talking about it.
The reward was not just five thousand dollars, but fifty million dollars! It was the kind of money that most people would never be able to earn in their lifetime.
The name, “Lindsey Juhl”, resounded through the streets of Germany. Some people even printed Lindsey's photo to try to get some leads so that they could have a chance to get this money.
Even if it was 10%, 1%, or even 0.1%, it was still a fortune for most people.
Liam was busy with other matters. When he discovered this, it had already reached the point that it could not be suppressed.
Airport.
The driver looked at the exhausted man sitting in the back seat. Liam looked like he had aged several years overnight.
"Sir, should we go back?" The driver was referring to the place where Sophie was kept.
Liam heard this and subconsciously asked, "Is anyone following us?"
The driver was used to this and replied, "No, I’ve shaken off a group of them on the way, so they shouldn’t be able to catch up to us."
Liam and Zayn's people looked like they were playing a game of cat and mouse, but no one could tell who was the cat and who was the mouse.
It was already very late when Liam entered the door looking fatigued. What he did not expect was that Sophie was still awake.
Sophie took a deep breath and suppressed her rising emotions. "This is my body, Liam. You should respect my opinion."
Liam's gaze landed on Sophie, but he never said anything. Sophie also looked straight into his eyes.
"I'm in charge of this." Liam looked away and emphasized word by word, "Sophie, I thought that after last night's incident, you would’ve realized that this matter is non-negotiable."
How could Sophie not feel it? However, realizing it was one thing and reacting to it was another.
He reached out and pulled Sophie into his arms. Liam sighed with content. "Sophie, don't make me angry."
Sophie also hugged him back. She could feel Liam's exhaustion.
"Liam, I don't want to be a burden on you. This is so wrong, so let's just stop, okay?"
His arm placed around Sophie's waist became tense and his chest heaved violently as he held her tighter.
He had given her a silent answer.
Sophie closed her eyes and suppressed the tears welling up in her eyes.
The two of them hardly ever quarrelled, but because of this, they repeatedly got into a disagreement.
The surrounding servants were all silent. After a long time, Sophie gently pushed Liam away. "Go wash up and sleep early."
After seeing Liam walk into the bathroom, Sophie took out a small slip of paper that she had put on her body.
There was a phone number written on it.
