Zayn felt tightly bound by a jacket that did not fit very well, which made it hard to breathe.
His dry throat made him cough violently.
Zayn was coughing so hard that it moved the other wounds on his body and there was a sharp instantaneous pain that was hard to ignore.
He almost fainted again, but he tried to keep himself awake and waited until the dizziness dissipated before he slowly opened his eyes.
Zayn did not know how long he had been passed out. He was a little uncomfortable when he first opened his eyes, so he took a moment to see that he was in a very spacious hospital room.
Besides him, there was another person in the room.
That person had obviously just come in. As she slowly approached, Zayn's eyes widened slightly. "You..."
"Don't move!" Allie took a few steps forward. She pressed Zayn's shoulder to make him lie back down and poured him a glass of water. "Your body is still weak. You can't just move around."
She wanted to prop Zayn's head up and bring the glass of water to his lips, but she did not expect that just as she touched him, he jerked away like he was avoiding the plague. He fiercely turned his head to avoid her and said in a cold voice, "Get out! Don't touch me!"
His throat was so dry that his voice was hoarse, but he was determined not to let her touch him. Zayn looked at Allie with indescribable disgust.
Even though Allie was standing and Zayn was lying down, Allie had the illusion that this man was still looking down on her.
She put the glass down and sat on the chair beside the bed. She then reached out again to try and touch Zayn's hand. Zayn avoided her touch yet again and did not care that he agitated his wounds. He treated Allie as if she was dirty.
Allie was completely enraged, but she looked very aggrieved. "I went to great lengths to save you from my brother. If it wasn't for me, you’d be dead by now."
Zayn looked at her coldly and there was no fluctuation in his eyes or his heart. He just asked, "How’s Lindsey?"
Allie heard that he asked about Lindsey as soon as he woke up and became even more furious, but she just cried even more. "Lindsey...she...she..."
She stammered and did not complete her sentence. Zayn was annoyed by her actions and could not care less about his injuries. He forced himself to sit up and grabbed Allie’s collar, bringing her in front of him. His bloodshot eyes stared intently at Allie. "What’s wrong with Lindsey?!"
Allie was startled by his glare. Her eyes flickered and she did not dare to lie to him again. She just choked and said, "Let go of me first. Lindsey’s fine for now. The surgery was canceled midway."
Only when Zayn heard these words did he let go of his hand. Then, his body fell back onto the bed heavily.
Zayn was injured on his back and was lying on his stomach. This time, the wound probably split open and the blanket was stained with blood in an instant.
Allie did not dare to approach him again. Even though she was annoyed at Zayn’s actions, she did not want him to die. Otherwise, it would have been a waste of effort to save him.
When she saw Zayn's back oozing blood, she stomped away to call the doctor over.
Zayn was already weak. He had never gotten this seriously injured before and was agitated as soon as he woke up, so he fainted again.
He had no mobility and could not even get out of this ward, let alone find a way to save himself, so naturally, he did not know that everyone was now looking for him.
It was not just Soren who went to Germany desperately trying to find Zayn's whereabouts, even Liam never gave up looking for him. After all, if Liam could not confirm that Zayn was really dead, he could not be at ease.
In fact, Liam did not care what she said. If he had not asked the maids, he would not have known that Allie came by in the afternoon and left in a hurry. She was also coincidentally seen by Sophie. That was why Liam came over tonight.
To Liam, Lindsey was just a spare organ for Sophie. She was not even a human being.
"If you came just to ask such boring questions, then I'm going to bed." After saying that, Lindsey turned around and went upstairs.
Liam still had some questions for Lindsey, but before he could say anything, there was a knock on the door.
Lindsey paused in her footsteps and she looked towards the door. She saw that Liam was also looking at it with suspicion.
The bodyguards behind him were tense.
The door was not closed fully and it was ajar. After all, this was Liam's territory, so there was really no need to close the door.
The person knocked twice. When no one answered the door, the person directly pushed the door open.
The light inside the house fell on the person standing in the doorway, which made her face look excessively white.
"Sophie!" Liam was startled.
Lindsey also did not expect that the person who came was actually Sophie.
Sophie came alone and had somehow managed to fool the bodyguard at the door as she just stood there.
