Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 308

‘Can't wait to send me away?’

‘I won’t leave!’

It hurt whenever Allie moved her body, but it was not enough to kill her. Without much thought, Allie already knew who did this to her.

She sneered in her heart.

There was a cold smile on her face, but her eyes were red.

Since no one loved her, she would just have to love herself twice as much.

Allie wrapped herself tightly under the quilt and stopped crying.

After Zayn got back from the Moeller mansion, someone immediately reported an unusual activity before Zayn even took a seat.

"In the afternoon, someone went to the police station to report that someone was being illegally imprisoned. The police just waved it off and said that this family had a history of mental illness. Then, they sent the man away. The strange thing was that after he came out of the police station, he just disappeared."

Zayn's eyes twitched. "Continue."

"We suspect that the Wilfords took him."

"Suspect?" Zayn's tone was also full of doubt.

His subordinate lowered his head from shame. "We got the news when the man had already disappeared. At that time, the man came out of the police station and was directly taken into a car. The Wilford family and the local government have close relations..."

Such an explanation was actually quite far-fetched, but Zayn put away his doubts and said, "Check what this man does and where he lives, as well as what he did before he went to the police station."

This was just one of the many small things to be suspicious of. Zayn's mind was still on the people who were searching for Lindsey's whereabouts.

Zayn had a lot of things to do every day and everything he did was in preparation for saving Lindsey, but he was never able to find her whereabouts.

At dawn, Zayn was already up. He could not sleep more than what was needed to keep himself alive every day.

The warm sunlight shone on his body, but Zayn could not feel the slightest warmth.

He was standing in front of the hotel's floor-to-ceiling window as his gaze fell on the people who were as tiny as ants below. Suddenly, someone vigorously rapped on his room door behind him.

Zayn froze for a second. There was a doorbell at the door and if someone was looking for him, his people would inform him first. This whole floor was occupied by his people and even this hotel was part of the Guggenheim empire. He had been here for so many days, but this was the first time he heard someone pounding the door like that.

He did not even bother to look at the surveillance recording at the door before he walked over and pulled the door open with a puzzled expression.

"Zayn Guggenheim?!" Ginny's voice was loud. "It’s really you?!"

Ginny’s voice was so loud because she was excited. Zayn closed his eyes before opening them again to see the woman in front of him that he had not met for almost two years.

"Ginny Young." Zayn’s tone was affirmative. He then looked at the man standing behind Ginny who had not spoken. "Terence Moeller."

Terence brought Ginny into his arms and had his usual smile plastered on his face. "Mr. Guggenheim, I've heard a lot about you."

Even though he grew up in Germany, he spoke fluent English.

Hearing her mention this, there was a flash of agony that swept through Zayn's face. He quietly clenched his fingers. "It's my fault for not protecting her."

Ginny was startled. She felt that the man in front of her and the one she remembered were two completely different people.

The back of her hand ached, so Ginny lowered her eyes to look at it. She found that Terence had somehow brought her hand to his lips and gently bit it.

Ginny was embarrassed and exasperated. She tried to pull her hand away, but she failed to do so. Terence leaned into her ear and said, "Stop staring at him."

Although his voice was lowered, Zayn definitely heard it and he did not expect Terence would be such a person.

"Stop messing around!" Ginny was irritated and said, "We're talking about something serious."

After she said that, she turned to Zayn again and said, "Lindsey should still be safe for now."

Seeing that Zayn was puzzled, Ginny sighed and continued, "But I don't know where Liam sent her."

"It's okay." Zayn was never one who liked to pin his hopes on others either. "I'll think of something."

"Mm." Ginny somehow felt a little heavy-hearted. "She didn't want to do it. Lindsey...she really loves you."

Hearing this from Lindsey’s friend who he was not familiar with, Zayn was a little taken aback. Ginny was recalling her memory and was solemn before she spoke again, “I didn’t know that the person Liam inadvertently rescued was Lindsey. When I found out later, Lindsey had almost regained consciousness, but she couldn't wake up. Even so, she unconsciously called out your name. It was such a desperate, sad, and painful tone."

Ginny frowned and continued, "Later, after she woke up, she said she hated you."
