Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 307

Lindsey had no idea that Liam Wilford wanted to take the life of her unborn child after taking hers.

When she went back upstairs, she saw that the room across from hers was empty and unoccupied.

The sound of people talking came from downstairs. The old manor was not very well insulated, so Lindsey could hear the voices downstairs vaguely when she stood at the door.

Lindsey opened the door and stood upstairs. She could not see what was happening below, but the voice sounded clearer.

"The Madam will come over to visit you tomorrow...The Young Master said to do everything the Madam asks, but you’ll need to cover up a couple of things. The Madam asked me to send this to you...Take it. Remember to keep an eye on your daughter-in-law. Don't let her out and scare the Madam."

The sound of talking soon faded, then the front door was closed. Lindsey did not hear everything, but she still got a rough idea.

The word "daughter-in-law" scared her. She froze for a moment before she realized that she was probably the only one in the manor who was the right age to be a "daughter-in-law", but who was the son?

The Madam should be Sophie Leger. So Sophie would come to visit the old lady tomorrow, and Lindsey would play the role of the old lady's daughter-in-law?

It seemed that Sophie did not know that Liam Wilford had captured Lindsey to cure her, so did this mean that Lindsey still had a chance?

Lindsey leaned her back against the door. Liam wanted to keep Sophie out of the loop, but Lindsey would not do as he wished.

She wanted to drag him down with her.

Lindsey’s thoughts went back to the doctor from last night. It had been a whole day and the doctor never showed up again. There were also no unusual movements nearby or even a shadow of a police officer that she imagined.

In fact, the note she used to ask for help was now in Liam’s palm.

There was messy handwriting on a piece of paper and it was written in English, “I don't know this family. I was kidnapped here, help me!”

After reading it several times, Liam suddenly let out a cold snort. "That doctor took this to the police?"

Smith was standing respectfully in front of Liam with his hands clasped. "Yes, but it was discovered by our people in time. We managed to convince him before he went into the police station by saying that Ms. Juhl's not in her right mind and that this wasn’t the first time such a thing happened."

"He believed it?" Liam asked with raised eyebrows.

Smith answered truthfully, "No, but at that time, he did. After he came out, I got out people to capture him."

Liam nodded and rubbed his brow tiredly. "Good, just lock him up first. When this is done and dusted, release him."

In fact, that doctor did not sleep at all last night because he was considering whether the note was real. He lived here for decades and this family rarely came to him, but not never. It was the first time he ever saw Lindsey there.

What finally made him decide to go to the police was because she was speaking English in an American accent as well as the hidden expectation and plea in her eyes when she looked at him.

However, he did not expect that he would get captured before he even saved her.

Lindsey was not aware of this, but a whole day passed without any news, so she almost gave up.

However, she knew she could not give up trying to get help from the outside world until the very last minute.

Liam's eyes gradually widened. "What are you talking about?"

Allie did not think about what she said. After all, facing the person closest to her, she could not help but vent out her emotions. Once she thought of Liam's indifference and his slap that landed on her face, her heart turned cold.

She had tears in her eyes and the bruises on her face were particularly obvious. "Brother..."

As soon as she said that, tears rolled down her cheeks.

Liam still loved his sister. Otherwise, he would not have rushed away from Sophie to save her as soon as he heard that something had happened to her.

However, he was extremely disappointed with Allie's repeated unrepentant attitude and the stupid things she did.

Liam looked at the girl in front of him. She had suffered these injuries because of him. Although they were only bruises and cuts, Allie had never experienced this in her life. When she cried and called him, Liam could not bear to lash out at her.

"Do you know what you did wrong? Do you still dare to be so capricious again in the future?" Liam reached out to wipe away the tears on Allie’s face and his words were not so harsh.

"I won't do it again, Brother. I was wrong." Allie choked out these words and looked so aggrieved.

Liam did not scold her and fixed her quilt. “Get some rest. There are people standing guard at the door. Once you’ve recovered, I’ll send you back to Mom and Dad.”

After saying that, Liam turned off the lights in the room, leaving only a bedside lamp on. He turned back and said, "This won't happen again. Get some sleep."

Allie watched Liam disappear from the doorway. Once the door closed with a click, her eyes instantly became resentful.
