"It's Shaun..." After saying that, Yvette cried louder. "He’s dying...Brother, I don't know...I don't know where this place is."
Yvette was driving crookedly and the calmness she had earlier was gone in an instant. With Callum reminding her, she looked around and saw the signboard, “Atlantic City Second Psychiatric Hospital”. She was just about to tell Callum when a dozen cars blocked her road.
She slammed on the brakes and was so panicked that she could not cry. The taser she brought with her into the funeral home was left in that room when she carried Shaun.
Callum did not hear her answer and became more anxious. "Yvette! Where are you?"
"Brother, I’m at Atlantic City Second Psychiatric Hospital. Someone’s coming." After she said that, Yvette clutched the phone tightly in her hand. She saw someone coming down from the opposite car and when the other party walked over, the car’s headlights lit up the person’s face clearly.
Yvette was stunned and in the next second, she was ready to push open the car door to get out, but she stopped moving. Who really hurt Shaun?
Lindsey Juhl. Zayn Guggenheim. Yvette’s fingers were clenched and she was extremely alert at this point.
Zayn walked up to her and saw the bloodied Shaun through the car’s windshield, then he met Yvette’s gaze.
His face was strangely full of shock and...even fear?
Someone knocked on the car window. Yvette saw that there were so many of them, so she knew that even if Shaun was hurt by them, she simply could not fight back.
Yvette then opened the car door and went down.
Suddenly, Zayn leaned over to Shaun and grabbed him. Yvette’s pupils shrank and quickly reached out to stop him, but she was pushed to the ground by Zayn. Zayn just looked at Shaun's bloodstained face and asked loudly, "Where’s Lindsey? Shaun Juhl! Where did Lindsey go?!"
"Let go of him!" Yvette went up and pulled Zayn's arm. She was sobbing as she yelled, "He's dying! Let go of him...he doesn't know anything..."
Soren caught up and was stunned when he saw Zayn's appearance. He then helped to pull Zayn back and said, "President, calm down."
When Soren inadvertently looked at the girl lying in the back seat of the car, whose face and head were also covered in blood, his expression also completely collapsed.
The scene was total chaos. Soren held Sieben tightly and Yvette did not let anyone touch Shaun. After the initial despair and anger, Zayn quickly calmed down and arranged for the two of them to be rushed to the hospital.
The people who came ahead of Zayn just happened to bump into Yvette's car when she left. They first checked the scene and found no one, but there was a lot of blood. Zayn and the others coincidentally blocked Yvette on the way over.
Zayn closed his eyes and opened them again. There were still a lot of things he wanted to ask Yvette, but he just waved his hand and let her follow along to the hospital.
......
Lindsey felt pain all over. Her scalp was in pain, her stomach was hurting, and her head was aching.
The pain was unbearable and when she felt someone approaching again, Lindsey subconsciously put her hand over her belly.
There seemed to be a lot of people around and there were loud noises. After a while, the noise miraculously disappeared from her ears.
All that remained was an indistinguishable voice that echoed in her ears, "You and your child will die. You will all die."
"No! No! The child can’t die! He can't die..." Lindsey shook her head and kept murmuring as tears welled up in her eyes. "Zayn...if we're all gone, what will happen to him? He'll be all alone..."
Quentin stood in the port's monitoring room and stared at the screen with unblinking eyes along with countless others.
The frustration and sense of defeat almost broke Zayn.
At the hospital.
Callum did not have time to change his clothes and rushed over to the hospital to find Yvette, who was getting out of the car, covered in blood.
Yvette watched as the nurses put Shaun on the gurney and quickly followed them, but she was pulled from behind.
"Where are you hurt? Yvette, tell me! I’ll take you to the doctor. Come, I'll carry you. It's okay. It won't leave a scar. It won't kill you. Even if you’re disabled, I’ll take care of you for life." As Callum said that, he squatted in front of Yvette.
Yvette pouted as tears rolled down her cheeks. She reached out to slap Callum’s back. When Callum stood up, she hugged him and cried, “Brother, I’m fine. It’s all Shaun’s. I...I wanna go in and see him. Don't stop me."
After saying that, Yvette glanced at Callum and casually wiped the tears from her eyes. She then quickly followed after the nurse.
Callum touched his nose and his expression also turned serious, then he ran in after Yvette.
That night, two patients were admitted to the emergency room at both ends of the corridor.
One of them was almost out of breath, while the other had a cracked skull and was in an extremely critical condition.
Soren was standing by the hospital window as he smoked one cigarette after another. Yvette was still wearing the bloodied white coat and kept pacing around.
Callum accompanied these two. After getting a brief understanding of what happened, he should have scolded Yvette. If those people left just a little later, Yvette might also be one of the patients lying in the operating theater.
