Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 270

As soon as Lindsey said that, both Lindsey and Sieben gasped and said in unison, "This can't be the funeral home, right?"

The more they looked at the skylight above them, the more they felt that it did not look like an ordinary house.

This place was really remote. Most people would not go there at night. Even during the day, people rarely set foot here.

These people somehow decided to hide them here. Zayn’s first reaction must be that they were already out of the city and would not think that they were held in this haunted place.

Lindsey and Sieben subconsciously huddled closer together.

After having this knowledge, they were no longer sleepy and started to chat in a soft voice.

"So what you said about being adopted by an American couple is not true?" Lindsey asked casually when she thought of it.

Unexpectedly, Sieben said, "That's true. I was adopted by them."

After she said that, Sieben probably did not want to go into it and changed the topic. “What’s wrong with you yesterday? You were in such a hurry pulling me out the door.”

Since they had been through so much together, they were considered good friends, so naturally, they talked about everything and particularly liked to pick at each other’s soft spot.

Once Sieben mentioned this, Lindsey noticed that she had not properly thought about Allie’s condition since she woke up.

Her phone disappeared a long time ago and it was probably broken by now.

Lindsey slowly sighed. “Allie, the woman at the club yesterday, said that she’s pregnant with Zayn’s child.”

"You believe such nonsense?" Sieben asked her back incredulously.

Lindsey was dumbfounded and did not understand what Sieben was thinking. "Why won't I believe it? They..."

Sieben impatiently interrupted her, “You’re just too involved in this to see it clearly. If she really had an affair with Zayn and was pregnant with his child, do you think she’ll wait till yesterday to tell you? She’s such a grudging person, so she would’ve done something earlier if what she said was true.”

Her voice was full of incredulity and it sounded like she made it up, but Lindsey felt that what she said made sense.

Up until now, Lindsey had been in a state of extreme self-doubt and suspicion of others. She had not had time to think about the matter at all.

Now that she thought about it carefully, if Allie did not plan to keep the baby, she could have just done the abortion quietly. Why would Allie deliberately tell her all this so that she would panic? Moreover, those people who stopped her and Sieben on the road yesterday seemed to have planned this ambush already.

Lindsey’s heart turned cold. If what Allie said was fake, then all this while, she...

Lindsey did not know what to think. She just felt resentment from being betrayed and deceived.

She still remembered that when she first regained consciousness, the first person she saw was Allie. At that time, her eyes were not used to the bright light and she only saw a girl's smiling face in a blur. She also heard the girl speak in fluent German, "You're awake!"

Then, as if the girl thought of something, she spoke in English, "Hey, you finally woke up!"

The voice was bubbly and had the simple tone of a young girl.

Lindsey finally let go of something that had been weighing on her, but her heart was filled with another strong emotion.

After a long time, the yacht gradually came to a stop and Soren finally caught up.

Unexpectedly, Zayn stood on the deck with a sullen face without saying a word. There was an entire row of people kneeling in front of him with their heads lifted, but none of them were who they wanted to find.

"President..." Soren took a step forward and was interrupted by the man's hand gesture before he finished his sentence.

The person who followed Zayn over immediately whispered to Soren, "It's just a group of addicts that wanted to sneak away to Bermuda, but they didn’t expect today's sudden strict investigation and were afraid of getting arrested, so they fled."

"F*ck!" Soren burst out cursing and kicked the railing of the yacht viciously.

There was a sliver of light coming from the horizon, but everyone’s mood was getting heavier. Zayn’s clothes were blown by the sea breeze, revealing a sense of loneliness.

Early in the morning, the Guggenheim mansion was awakened by the ringing phone.

Mrs. Wendy, who had not slept all night, heard the phone ringing, and quickly sat up from the sofa and hurried over.

"Hello?" A clear, pleasant male voice came through the phone. "Hello, I'm looking for Lindsey Juhl."

Mrs. Wendy almost burst into tears when she heard Lindsey's name. "Who is this? Our Madam isn’t home."

"She’s not at home?" Shaun's voice jumped a little. "I’m Shaun Juhl, your Madam's elder brother."

Mrs. Wendy knew him. When she heard this, she no longer held back her emotions. "Oh, Mr. Juhl."
