Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 257

Shaun stepped forward and pulled Yvette's arm. He was still panting as he asked, "What's wrong?"

Yvette stumbled as a result and subconsciously turned her head back to look at Shaun dumbfounded.

She was clearly not crying, but she looked so aggrieved that Shaun's hand that was clutching her arm unconsciously tightened. "Say something."

The events of that night were like a nightmare for everyone and they did not see each other in the past two days. They did not expect to run into each other today.

"I...I don't look good today." Yvette lowered his head and pulled the hem of her tweed skirt. "Yeah, I just think I look too ugly, so I didn’t want to meet anyone. Is Lindsey okay?"

Shaun sized her up for a moment, then said, "You don’t look ugly. I think you look good."

Yvette's eyes lit up for a moment. "Really?" However, they soon dimmed. What was the use of looking good anyway?

Shaun did not understand what Yvette was thinking, or what girls were thinking for that matter, but it was true that Yvette looked good every time he saw her.

"You look good, so why are you running away because of such a minor thing? Lindsey’s going away for a while. Go over and say hi to her."

As he said that, Shaun pulled Yvette’s arm and walked back to the restaurant.

Yvette shrugged off his hand.

Her reaction was a little too big. Seeing Shaun's puzzled gaze, Yvette waved awkwardly and said, "I...still have some things to do. Help me to say hi to her and wish her a safe trip!"

Yvette turned around to leave. She walked two steps away and looked back at Shaun, who was standing in place looking at her, then said, "Don't follow me."

Her voice was calm and cold, but her hands were clenched into fists under her sleeves. The hopes and anticipation that rose at the airport were completely defeated by reality punching her in the face.

There was nothing worse than the person she liked treating her well all just because he took her as a little sister.

Shaun’s tender eyes earlier in the restaurant automatically replayed in her head. Yvette told herself that she was the one who wanted to give up, so she absolutely could not cry.

What was the big deal about not being liked?

The girl's bright eyes shone in the daylight and the fine light inside somehow made Shaun's heart tighten.

"I'm leaving," Yvette said and walked to the corner of the street. She hailed a taxi and left.

Shaun opened his mouth to call out to her, but he did not speak.

He had just realized that Yvette probably misunderstood something, but there was nothing he could explain. He would not like her, so he should not give her hope.

Zayn had been very busy lately. Quentin had already finished his business overseas and came back to run the company. Zayn had also been working from home full time.

Zayn let out a helpless sigh and kissed her on the cheek. “Next time, remember to wear your slippers before walking around.”

Lindsey hurriedly nodded. "I promise."

Zayn was weird. In situations where he should be angry, he was not, while in the smallest things that should not matter, he would get incredibly mad.

He finished washing up and laid down on the bed, but Lindsey was already fast asleep. When she felt the man’s presence, she subconsciously rolled over to him.

Zayn hugged her tightly and could not resist kissing her.

Lindsey slept until mid-morning, but Zayn had already gotten up early in the morning, kissed her, and told her some things before leaving.

She had a vague impression of Zayn telling her something, but she shook her head and still could not recall what it was.

Her belly was gradually bulging and her skin seemed to have gotten better.

Lindsey tried to recall what Zayn said while she went downstairs. Mrs. Wendy was on the phone in the living room.

When Mrs. Wendy saw Lindsey walking downstairs, she smiled and said over the phone, "Yeah, she's awake. She just woke up. Don't worry, Young Master."

Zayn had probably instructed something else and Mrs. Wendy answered yes before hanging up.
