The gloom Liam's face cleared slightly, "Continue."
Allie knew that Liam was moved by her reasoning and looked delighted. “Brother, even though what I did was risky, I’ve managed to clear the suspicion that Lindsey and Zayn have of me. We were always too impatient back then. Why don’t we retreat so that Zayn would think that you didn’t intend to hurt Lindsey? Then we can find another chance to make her disappear. This way you’ll not only get what you want, but you’ll also have one less enemy.”
"Easy for you to say." Liam snorted coldly. "Do you think if something happens to Lindsey, Zayn won't suspect me? The first person he'll suspect is me."
His self-awareness was simply remarkable.
Allie naturally had her selfish intentions in doing this. Her desire to conquer Zayn was not fazed by Zayn’s attitude towards her.
The feelings she had for Zayn probably had nothing to do with love, but she had been chasing him for such a long time, so she just felt bitter about it.
Liam could make an enemy out of Zayn, but she could not.
After some time, desire would turn into an obsession.
"Brother, I promise I’ll help you to distract Zayn." Allie gave her word.
Liam glanced at her. "Let's hope you manage to."
He hung up the phone and Allie picked up the red wine on the table and took a sip. Her expression was indistinct. Her diamond-encrusted nails gently tapped at the side of her legs as she schemed her next move...
Zayn and Lindsey slept until the afternoon.
Lindsey woke up hungry and she noticed the man next to her was already awake. He was looking at her with unblinking eyes.
"When did you wake up?" Lindsey muttered and gave a small yawn. "Why didn't you wake me up?"
Zayn could not bring himself to say what he thought, ‘I couldn't bear to wake you up because you were sleeping so soundly.’
He just planted a soft kiss on her nose and pulled her still-slim waist up. “You must be hungry by now. Let’s go downstairs to eat.”
This was exactly what Lindsey was thinking about. The two of them simply washed up and Zayn held Lindsey’s hand as they went to the dining hall.
Lindsey sat down and prepared to eat, then realized that her current lifestyle was really similar to a house pet.
To cover up her embarrassment, Lindsey looked up and asked the maid, "Where are Soren and Sieben?"
Quentin was still overseas. Soren was staying at the mansion, so Lindsey thought that it would be better if they could all eat together sometime as it would be more lively.
The servant looked at Zayn and said, "Mr. Soren and Ms. Sieben have not come out since they entered the loft."
Lindsey was not very clear about what was going on between these two, but when she heard this, she had a feeling that she had spied on some kind of secret.
She smiled cheekily and muttered to herself, "Then let's eat first."
Zayn glanced at her and felt that Lindsey seemed to have become more vibrant. This liveliness was not fake, but emanating from her bones.
This was a good thing.
Zayn hooked his lips up into a smile and carefully placed all of Lindsey's favorite foods in front of her.
The two people that Lindsey was asking about earlier were indeed still in the loft.
Soren woke up a long time ago, but his whole body was tightly confined. The girl’s sleeping posture was more dominant and clung to him the entire time. When Soren moved gently, Sieben would immediately open her eyes, but when she saw it was him, she would quickly fall asleep again.
"I'm used to it. It's not convenient to wear too much." Sieben replied in a casual tone.
Lindsey was wrapped in a thick coat. She reached out to hold Sieben's hand, and it was indeed as cold as she thought it would be.
"You need to wear more and keep yourself warm in winter." Her tone was serious.
Sieben's hand was held by Lindsey’s warm and soft hand. Sieben felt like she was being pricked by a needle and wanted to pull away, but Lindsey grabbed onto her. "Don't be shy, I'll warm it up for you."
After a moment of silence, Sieben lowered her eyes and suddenly asked, "Are you nice to everyone?"
"No." Lindsey immediately denied it. She then laughed and joked, "It's probably because I’m pregnant, so recently, my motherly instincts just overflowed. When I see you, I want to care for you. And what I did for you is very normal between friends."
"Friends?" Sieben repeated.
Lindsey looked at the girl's hanging head and her small curls. Sieben's hair was dirty-blonde and her hair looked fine and soft.
Sieben had soft hair, but she looked so indifferent, making her seem like a robot.
Lindsey was in a daze when she felt Sieben's fingertips gently poking at her belly. "How old is it?"
Sieben’s voice carried a bit of curiosity, like a young child.
Lindsey pulled Sieben’s hand and placed it on her belly over her shirt. “Almost 4 months. There’s still no movement now. When he gets a little bigger, you can probably feel him if you put your hand here.”
As she said this, Lindsey smiled gently and said, “Isn’t it amazing? The doctor said that it’s a baby boy.”
