Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 238

"Why did I choose this mediocre company?" Zayn took over and finished the rest of Quentin's words.

"We seem to have a lot of options, but Wilford Corporation is unrelenting. The next step we’ll face is a counterattack from Liam's foreign headquarters. By then, this financing will turn out to be their most powerful weapon to attack us."

Zayn explained as he walked, "Those companies that seem to be more powerful are too complicated with their internal interests and entanglements. They may not be as trustworthy as this partner."

"Are you saying that Liam Wilford already knows that we’re behind this?"

"Liam Wilford’s not dumb. Don't underestimate this man."

Quentin froze. He had seen Liam Wilford’s ruthlessness. As a multinational conglomerate, Wilford Corporation's influence was not as small as their subsidiary in Atlantic City.

However, the company in Atlantic City was the place Wilford Corporation made a fortune, so no one would be happy being brought down like this. In contrast, Zayn was not worried about the upcoming business battle, but he was more worried about Lindsey's safety.

"How are the arrangements for the things I asked last time?" Zayn returned to the hotel and suddenly asked Quentin before entering the door.

There was a tacit understanding between the two of them that Quentin knew what he was referring to. "It's done."

"Good. Let’s hustle these two days so we can go back early."

It was originally a four days trip, but because Zayn was here, their efficiency was higher.

Guggenheim mansion.

It was not until Lindsey finished her breakfast that the maid who helped Sieben wash up came down from upstairs. "Young Madam. She’s all cleaned up now."

As soon as she said that, Lindsey saw Sieben walking down the stairs.

The Guggenheim mansion's guest room was also on the second floor. Since it was too last minute to buy her new clothes, Lindsey picked a pastel yellow dress from her pile of new clothes for Sieben. She would buy her actual clothes later.

Lindsey knew that this girl would look decent with her big bright eyes. When she saw the girl's cleaned-up face, she still could not hide her amazement.

Sieben’s shoulder-length hair was still not fully dried yet and a few strands of dark hair were attached to her cheeks, making her face even fairer and more delicate in contrast. Her dark brown eyes were big and bright, and her nose was sharp.

Her slightly pouty pinkish lips on her palm-sized face made her look like a delicate and refined teenage girl.

It was really hard to imagine that she would have such a beautiful face under all that grime earlier.

Soren had been feeling uneasy about Sieben, so he was also waiting in the living room. He had seen all kinds of people, so beauty and ugliness made no difference in his eyes.

However, when he saw the barefoot girl in the yellow dress with rosy cheeks, he was a little stunned.

Probably realizing his behavior, Soren quickly withdrew his gaze.

Just when the whole living room was in awe of Sieben's looks, an untimely foul mouth suddenly sounded, "Sh*t! Is this even wearable?"

Sieben was unaware of the stir her appearance had caused. She reached out and uncomfortably tugged at her dress, pulling up the neckline.

Lindsey covered her mouth and laughed. Even Soren looked away.

"Just bear with this first. The new clothes will be delivered this afternoon. You can tell me what you like to wear."

Sieben had completely made herself at home.

Shaun’s car was parked in the distance, but he was standing in front of the Guggenheim mansion. The cigarette in his hand was flickering. Seeing Lindsey walking over, he carefully stubbed it out and threw it into the trash can.

He was also holding a lot of things in his hand. Lindsey took a cursory glance at them. They were all food and supplements for pregnant women. She looked at Shaun a little strangely and said, "Brother, what are you doing?"

Shaun handed the expensive imported health products in his hand to the maid and did not go in. He revealed a tired smile and said, "I came to see you. Are you free now? Let's find a place to talk."

He also had the same concerns as Lindsey.

The Guggenheim mansion spanned a wide area. Not far away, there was a small commercial hub. They found a quiet place amid the noise.

The two of them found a place to take a seat. Soren dutifully followed, so Lindsey did not bring anyone else.

"Is Zayn not here?" Shaun watched Lindsey sit down before he took his seat.

Both of them were facing each other, with Soren standing not far behind them in a position where he could not hear what they were talking about but could rush up at once if something happened.

Lindsey took a sip of the milk she just ordered, pursed her lips, and smiled. "He’s overseas."

"Why is he not here at this juncture?"

Lindsey did not hear what he said clearly and looked puzzled. "Brother, what's wrong?"
