"What's going on? Boss, wasn't she thrown out by us?" A man who had been with Soren for the longest time asked.
They had not only thrown her out, but she was even blindfolded. They had also ensured that she would not be able to trail them.
Soren did not speak and looked warily at the sleepy-eyed girl. His fingers were still on the weapon at his waist. Not only him, but several people next to him also had the same expression. Although they were in disbelief, they were still cautious.
This girl was certainly not simple to be able to sneak onto the plane without being discovered by them.
"Am I not allowed to find my own way to you?" The girl blinked. She took in their serious and wary looks and laughed lightly. Then, she used her chin to point at Soren. "I told you that I want to follow you."
"I told you not to follow me, too." Soren’s face looked murderous.
He initially thought that she was just a homeless wanderer. Now it seemed that he was completely wrong.
"I don't care. I'm going to follow you anyhow." The girl was persistent. Her voice was delicate as she said, "I'm not a bad person and I’m not with them. I just don’t have a place to go, so just take me in for a while, okay?"
She said this as a matter of fact and her dark, glimmering eyes glowed with anticipation.
The person next to Soren gave him a look as if he was saying, “Boss, what should we do?”
Soren was also a bit overwhelmed at this point. He often dabbled in shady business and his hands were inevitably stained with blood. Even if he knew that the girl in front of him was not simple, he could not lay hands on her because the girl looked to be a teenager. In his eyes, she was still a child.
However, if she were to really do something, he definitely would not be soft-hearted.
The girl seemed to have a surprising perception of danger. When she saw the change in his eyes and face, she hurriedly said, "Everything I said is true! I grew up in public housing in Germany and was adopted by an American couple. When they passed away, I was left alone. I only managed to follow you because I’m a fast runner and I’m light-footed. You guys were too careless and the hatch was unguarded, so I snuck in. Really! You can check if you don't believe me. My name is Sieben and a lot of people in the public housing community know me."
"Then why did you follow us here when you had a life back there?" Soren stared intently into Sieben's eyes.
When he mentioned this, Sieben became a little frightened. "The owner of the house you went to only likes teenage girls. I was about to run away and somehow this jerk caught me back."
After saying that, she unmercifully punched David in the head.
"Liam Wilford?" Soren felt a little incredulous.
"No, a housekeeper called Smith." When Sieben mentioned Smith, the bottom of her eyes was full of disgust.
The people next to her were a bit flustered. Although Sieben was a teenage girl, she looked like this, so it was really hard to imagine who would want her.
What strange tastes.
"If I stay there, Smith will still find someone to catch me. That's why I followed you guys." Sieben looked at the few burly men in front of her with a pleading look. "Please, help me..."
Soren was unmoved and gave a look to the people next to him. Immediately, someone made a call to check whether what Sieben said was true.
"Boss, it’s the President."
Soren paused, then took the phone over.
"Why aren’t you out yet?" Zayn asked indifferently as he tapped on the car window.
Soren glanced at Sieben, signaling the men around him to tie her up, then said, "There was a little hiccup. I’ll come out now. You came personally?"
On the way, Soren reported his findings to Zayn.
In the villa, after Zayn got all the answers he wanted from David, Soren felt that the surrounding temperature seemed to have plummeted by more than twenty degrees. It was as cold as the weather outside.
It was already very late at night. Zayn came out only after putting Lindsey to sleep. This interrogation lasted more than three hours. When he came out of the villa, Zayn was silent for a long time before he instructed his driver to go back to the Guggenheim mansion.
Every day, Lindsey slept early and got up late. That day, she woke up unprecedentedly early.
The curtains in the room were fully blacked out, so the room was still dim. Lindsey opened her eyes and saw Zayn right in front of her.
Her sleepiness faded at once. Zayn was wearing a sweatsuit, but it was clearly not the pajamas he wore before going to bed last night.
"What's wrong?" Lindsey's mind was still in a daze. "Are you going out?"
After saying that, she glanced at the time. It was only a little after 6:00 am.
"Why are you up so early?"
Zayn looked at Lindsey with a burning gaze. He did not know how long he kept this position. Lindsey reached out and caressed his cheek. "What are you staring at? Is something wrong?"
Lindsey was completely awake. Zayn then held her small hand. His hands were cold. When he felt Lindsey’s warmth, the ice in his heart began to melt.
Zayn gently kissed Lindsey on the forehead and pulled her into his arms. “Soren’s back and he brought some news.”
Lindsey's reaction was slower in the morning and asked, "What news?"
