Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 227

Lindsey nodded. The man's embrace made her feel at ease, and soon, she fell asleep.

Zayn did not feel sleepy. It was already dawn and a ray of light came through the dark bedroom.

He gently got up from the bed and saw that the person in bed had not woken up, then he took his phone and went outside to make a call.

The call was quickly connected and the other person sounded like he had not slept all night. "President."

"Help me find out where Lindsey's birth parents are now."

"Yes, sir."

After he hung up, Zayn stood at the balcony and looked at the gradually rising sun, but his eyes became colder.

Lindsey's biological parents had disappeared for decades and left no information behind, so it was very difficult to find them now.

Zayn thought that if he could not find them, then it was impossible for anyone else to.

Lindsey woke up and found that space next to her had long since cooled down, so Zayn should have left earlier. She then saw the note left by the man on the bed. “There’s an emergency at the company. Remember to drink water first as soon as you get up, then go down for breakfast…”

She never knew Zayn could be so naggy.

Lindsey put the note away and had just gotten downstairs when the maid came in with a black package.

"Young Madam, this package has your name written on it, but there’s no sender or address."

Lindsey looked at the black parcel, and after a while, she did not touch it, but only instructed, "Put it away first and have someone open it later to see what it is."

Since her accident, the servants in the mansion were screened thoroughly and the ones left behind were all trustworthy, so they cared a lot more about Lindsey's safety than before.

Lindsey had a feeling that the package would not contain anything good, but what the servants brought to her surprised her a little.

It was a small baby hat that was very old.

Lindsey had seen a lot of baby products lately and the style of that baby hat was very different from what was in fashion now. This looked like the kind of hand-sewn ones that were popular in the countryside 20 or 30 years ago.

She could tell that the person who made this was good at sewing. The stitches were delicate and there were complicated embroideries on the hat.

The hat was very small and was only as big as Lindsey’s palm. Its burgundy color had somewhat faded, so it looked more aged.

"Is this all there is?" Lindsey asked the maid who opened the box.

The maid took out another note. "There's another small note. There's just one sentence written on it. Here, Young Madam."

Lindsey took it and it really only had one sentence on it. The handwriting was the same as the signature on the package. "This was yours, she made it for you with her own hands."

Her fingers shook violently.

The tiny note fell out of her hands. A gust of wind blew from nowhere, blowing it around and landing in an unoccupied corner.

Seeing that Lindsey’s expression was off, the maid called out worriedly, "Young Madam, are you alright?"

Lindsey came back to her senses. "Yeah, I'm fine."

She still had the burgundy hat in her hand and threw it away like it was a hot potato. "Put this away and don't let me see it again."

After saying that, Lindsey fled upstairs. The maid behind her wanted to say something.

However, as if his patience was inexhaustible, Liam called a third time.

Lindsey finally answered the call this time.

"Why weren't you answering the phone?" Liam complained unhappily.

Lindsey did not say anything, so Liam continued, "Did you receive the gift I sent you?"

"Are you that free?" Lindsey asked coldly.

"I’m alright. I still have time to prepare a gift for you though. We still have half a month left in our agreement, but what should I do if you break your promise?" Liam sounded very regretful.

Lindsey had nothing to say because the unexpected arrival of this little one in her womb had tipped the scales in her heart in a direction that she never anticipated before.

"Sigh...I knew it. Lindsey, had I known this would happen, I would’ve just ripped your heart out in the first place." Even though what he said was gory, his tone was still playful. "So, what now?"

"Liam Wilford." Lindsey closed her eyes and said word by word, "The child must be born."

"Oh?" Liam smiled playfully. "The child must be born? I’m afraid you may not have enough time. It seems that you don't care about the lives of those two people. In that case, I’ll just have to send you a piece of their meat every day."

Lindsey nearly vomited because of his words. Her expression turned colder as she shouted, "You dare?!"

"You even dare to break the contract, so what else would I not dare do?"

Liam also changed his tone. "Do you think your life is comparable to Sophie's? You have no right to negotiate terms with me."

Lindsey immediately reached out and tapped the red button as soon as she could. The tiredness on her face was hard to conceal.
