As soon as the plane landed in Atlantic City, Yvette Wendell flew out of the cabin like a baby bird returning to its nest.
Shaun said that he would pick her up from the airport, so Yvette was immersed in her beautiful fantasy of being hugged by Shaun once she got off the plane.
Unfortunately, the man at the arrival gate shattered her dreams in an instant.
Shaun was there, but next to him was her stony-faced big brother.
Yvette's cheerful pace instantly stopped. As if she was walking in water, every step she took became extremely labored. Even if she dawdled, there was only so much distance between them. In the end, she lowered her head and said timidly, "Brother...Shaun..."
"Hurry up and get your *ss over here!" Callum roared. His behavior did not match his name at all.
Yvette dragged her feet over. She seemed to have thought of something and lifted her head to look at Shaun. In the end, Callum interjected, "What are you looking at? Spoiled brat!"
"No, Brother, I have something to discuss with Shaun." It was rare for Yvette to be so serious.
When she said this, Shaun's eyes drifted to her face.
"I called Lindsey, but her phone was switched off. Do you know what happened to her?"
Yvette broke away from Callum's grip and ran over to Shaun.
She was asking if Shaun knew what happened to Lindsey. Shaun frowned and felt that there was a deeper meaning in what she said and asked, "What's wrong?"
Shaun asked this while he took out his phone to call Lindsey. Sure enough, her phone was switched off.
"Lindsey won't let me tell you this, but I think she's not in the right state of mind." Yvette tilted her head. She was more like a spoiled princess than Allie Wilford. Her eyes were overflowing with innocence.
However, that did not mean she was not smart.
Shaun became tense as soon as he heard Lindsey’s name that he even forgot Callum was still around and grabbed Yvette’s arm. “What did she ask you to keep from me? Did something happen? Why would you bump into Lindsey in Harrisburg? Why was she there?”
"Hey hey hey! What are you doing? Let go of her!" Callum saw that Shaun was agitated and got between them as he pried Shaun’s hand away from Yvette. He glared at Shaun furiously and glanced at his silly little sister.
Yvette was not one to hold grudges. She was just thinking to give Shaun the cold shoulder when she was on the flight, but she forgot about it as soon as she got off the plane.
"I can't say." Yvette bit his fingernails. "She didn’t tell me why she went there, but she just looked very unhappy...and..."
Yvette had always been a straightforward person. This was the first time she ever stammered. Shaun was so anxious that he said, "Just spit it out!"
She rolled her eyes and muttered in a low voice, "Why are you so anxious?"
However, Yvette thought of Lindsey's state of mind at that time and still felt very uneasy. Finally, she bit her lower lip and told him the truth. "She’s pregnant, but I think she doesn’t want to keep the baby."
"What did you say?!" Shaun yelled at Yvette.
