That day, Lindsey was on a video call with Allie Wilford. These days, Allie would always be the first to tell her every time there was news of Zayn, so Lindsey had also developed the habit of confiding in her.
"Allie, I feel a little bored. It's been a long time since I went out. Are you busy today?"
Allie paused for a moment and immediately said, "Nope. Lindsey, do you want to take a break? Zayn is just too ridiculous. Why are you still staying at the Guggenheim mansion? Why don't you divorce him before it's too late?"
She was indignant as she said this, but Lindsey was quiet. Zayn had kept all of this from everyone at the Guggenheim mansion. More accurately, he was hiding it from Mrs. Wendy and his grandfather. They were still clueless, so Lindsey could not just leave.
"Lindsey, has Zayn gone home these days?"
"Yeah, he came home, but left not long after."
"What a scumbag!"
Allie often cursed Zayn in front of Lindsey these two days, so Lindsey also thought that Zayn was a scum. For a moment, an emotion surged in her heart.
"Let's go out for a drink," Lindsey said. She suddenly felt like indulging herself.
This time, Lindsey did not ask for Allie’s suggestion and found a bar that was not crowded with soothing instrumental music playing inside. It was not like a usual bar, but more like a cozy little lounge.
"What’s the point of Zayn holding onto you and not going through the divorce?" Allie sent the girl who delivered the drinks away while she opened the beer bottles on the table.
Allie’s movements were clean and crisp, but her expression was hard to grasp. She did not look like a spoiled princess, but more like a frequent bar crawler.
Lindsey did not even notice Allie’s expression as she lowered her gaze, seemingly thinking about something. After Allie said this, Lindsey reached out to grab a bottle of beer and chugged it.
"Hey, don't rush it." Allie hurriedly reached out to stop her, but she did not manage to.
Lindsey gulped the beer, but she did not taste anything. She could only feel the cold liquid flowing down her throat. Somehow, it suppressed all the emotions in her heart.
“I told him that we’ll get divorced in a few months.” Lindsey was still holding the bottle in her hand as she stared into the void.
"Oh? You guys talked about it? Did Zayn agree?" Allie's eyes immediately widened as surprise and astonishment flashed across the bottom of her eyes.
Lindsey shook the liquid in her hand and took another big gulp. She was clearly not as excited as Allie.
Allie spoke what she thought, “You guys should’ve gotten a divorce earlier. Zayn looked so deeply in love with you, but it’s only been a few days and he’s shown his true colors. He’s such a scumbag and even treated you like sh*t because of the other woman. You shouldn’t forgive this kind of man.”
The other woman referred to Jenny Lenig.
Allie actually did not expect Zayn's attitude towards Lindsey to change so much. These days, Zayn was dominating the tabloids and was surrounded by celebrities and models. However, those women that Zayn fancied were all one-night stands.
The reason for this was not known to Allie, but Zayn deliberately made a big deal out of it, which was not like his usual style.
Could it be that he got bored of Lindsey and could no longer keep up the act, so he finally showed his true colors?
If that was the case, then this was great news for Allie. She was not afraid of a man's philandering, but more afraid of his obsession.
