Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 148

Soren saw Jenny Lenig's already dull face turned miserably pale, but he still did not have the slightest intention of showing mercy.

Jenny broke down and shouted, "No! I'm that girl! I'm the one!"

Soren was not bothered to continue babbling with her.

Jenny had been living in her own imagination and had been pretending to be crazy for so long that she really went nuts now that all her dreams were crushed in front of her.

She screamed as tears gushed out from the corners of her eyes. Somehow, she had a burst of strength and released herself from Soren’s grip, then she charged at Lindsey and Zayn.

"I'll kill you! After I kill you, Zayn is all mine!" Jenny’s voice was hoarse and she sounded like a demon that just crawled out of hell. Seeing Lindsey nestled in Zayn’s arms, Jenny felt that the truth seemed so ridiculous and decided to catch them off guard.

The couple was startled when they heard Jenny's voice. Before they had time to release each other, they felt a huge force crashing into them.

They were standing right by the balcony and in the nick of time, Zayn pulled Lindsey to the side, but Lindsey did not completely avoid the hit as she still felt a sharp pain in her waist.

Lindsey’s eyes blacked out for a second and before she knew it, a muffled "crash" sounded in her ears.

Her heart shuddered and Lindsey quickly opened her eyes in shock.

Zayn was still holding her firmly in his arms and there was a surprised look on his face.

Lindsey calmed herself down and looked away to see Soren standing dumbfounded on the side. He never expected this to happen.

Jenny wanted to kill Lindsey, but Zayn pulled Lindsey away and dodged it. At that moment, she could not control her momentum and crashed into the glass fence, falling off the balcony.

Broken glass of various sizes was all over the ground, completely shattered.

Lindsey was dumbstruck. Even though she initially said that she wanted to throw Jenny off the balcony, she was just trying to scare her. Who would have thought that Jenny would actually fall off?

After Lindsey returned to her senses, she subconsciously glanced over to see Zayn’s reaction.

She needed to tilt her head up to see the expression on his face clearly. The man in front of her sensed that Lindsey was looking at him and lowered his head.

The surprise on his face was gone and he looked cold. When he met her gaze, he instantly looked more gentle.

There was no sadness, anxiety, or heartache, only a long overdue peace.

Zayn's gaze was fixated on Lindsey's face when he instructed Soren, "Go down and take a look."

When Soren left, Zayn moved his hand to Lindsey's waist and tried to lift up the corner of her shirt.

Lindsey's heart was pounding when she thought of Jenny falling off the balcony. She really wanted Jenny to die, but now that something happened to Jenny right in front of her eyes, she did not know how she felt about it.

She felt a little sad and even pity for Jenny.

Lindsey was most concerned about Zayn's attitude. He was too calm. After witnessing how much Zayn cared for Jenny, Lindsey was sure that he loved Jenny and did not expect this result.

She could not help but sigh as she did not know if Zayn was only like this in front of her, which was why he appeared to not care about Jenny at all.

The soft flesh on her waist was brushed by the man's slightly rough fingers, which brought up a tingling sensation. Lindsey was so startled that she jumped back to her senses.

Lindsey's eyes instantly widened as she stared at Zayn. "What are you doing?"

Zayn looked at her frankly with a soft glow in his eyes as he said, "Weren’t you just hit here? Let me take a look."

The situation earlier was too sudden that it left the two of them a bit frazzled. Soren also took some time to react, so it was hard to believe that Zayn even noticed that her waist had been hit.
