"Charles?" Lindsey saw the doctor who walked in and was amazed. There was really nothing the eccentric Liam Wilford would not do. "Liam, why did you bring him here?"
Charles could not understand English, but he greeted Lindsey in a friendly manner. "Bonjour, Madame Juhl."
Lindsey smiled as a response.
Liam was holding a white Persian cat in his arms, stroking the cat's back slowly with a pleased and relaxed look.
He squinted slightly and did not look at Lindsey as he said, "Your body needs regular checkups and Charles knows your condition best. I can only feel at ease with him around."
"Freak!" Lindsey cursed at him fiercely. Even if she knew his real purpose, she still felt that this man was absolutely insane and resourceful.
Or rather, it was because she knew him too well that she felt all of Liam’s crazy behavior was incredulous.
Liam did not care and had a smile on his lips as he said, "Go for the checkup."
Charles smiled and made an inviting gesture to Lindsey as he was followed by two blonde female nurses behind him.
Just as Lindsey was about to follow Charles into the room for the checkup, Liam suddenly said, "By the way, there were a few minions who have been following you on your way here just now. I’ve already taken care of them for you."
Lindsey abruptly turned her head as her expression changed. "What did you do to them?"
The people who followed her would only be Zayn’s men if they were not Liam's.
"Don't worry. They’re not dead yet." Liam still had a smile on his face, but in the next second, his expression turned cold. "I have to let them live so that they’re aware of what happens to Zayn's dogs."
Everyone could hear Liam's hatred for Zayn in what he said.
"There’s nothing between you and Zayn. Is it necessary to be like this?" Lindsey asked.
"At first, there really was nothing between us." Liam's voice was soft, but his eyes were dark. "But he provoked me out of the blue."
As he said this, his hands suddenly exerted a force and the gentle Persian cat nestled in his arms abruptly screamed in pain. It scratched Liam fiercely, leaving a bloody scar on the back of his hand.
He was strangling the cat's neck, but the look on his face was still gentle.
Lindsey was horrified and shouted, "Let go of the cat!"
"Fine, I’ll listen to you." Liam raised his eyes at Lindsey and loosened his grip. The cat in his arms jumped away in fright and was gone in an instant. It would probably never return in the future.
Liam Wilford dabbled in both legitimate and shady businesses overseas. His ruthless tactics earned him a notorious reputation.
Having witnessed it with her own eyes, Lindsey still felt frightened.
Such a person was so easily threatened by her and even made a deal with her.
Now that she thought about it, Lindsey felt a little scared. She thought that she was really not afraid of death at that time.
Liam Wilford was even more dangerous than Zayn Guggenheim because one would never know where his bottom line was.
"Hurry up and do the examination. My patience is limited." Liam did not care about that white cat and pulled out a tissue to wipe the blood on his hand as he gave Lindsey a friendly reminder.
Lindsey was not as relaxed as he was. Her face was glum as she said, "Let me warn you now. Don’t meddle in my business. My patience is also limited."
