The tattooed man looked behind him at Allie Wilford, then again at Lindsey. He looked tempted.
"Alright then, you in exchange for her. Ask them all to back up and walk here by yourself." The tattooed man looked at Lindsey with undisguised greed in his eyes.
"What if you don’t keep up your end of the bargain? We’ll walk forward together and meet in the middle to trade off."
The tattooed man looked at her skinny figure and thought that he could crush her with one hand, so he let his guard down and said, "Fine. Ask them to back up first."
Lindsey waved a hand to the people behind her, but the bodyguard was not convinced. "Ms. Juhl!"
"It's alright. I know what I’m doing."
Besides the one bodyguard who would be responsible for intercepting Allie, the rest of them retreated a few meters away. Lindsey took a glance at the crowd and found that Zayn had disappeared.
Lindsey withdrew her gaze and took a few more steps forward.
The tattooed man was holding Allie in one hand and a knife in the other as he walked cautiously towards Lindsey.
Allie looked as if she was put under a spell and walked forward as she was told.
The distance between the two parties was drawing close. When they were close enough, the tattooed man loosened his grip on Allie and pushed her forward. He then quickly reached out to grab Lindsey.
Lindsey was terrified and her heart was pounding.
Just at that moment, a man’s figure flashed by from the corner with incredible speed and the brick in his hand crashed onto the tattooed man's wrist.
The tattooed man was injured and did not manage to catch Lindsey. When he returned to his senses, he only wanted to stab Lindsey with the knife in his hand.
Lindsey saw Zayn flying out from the corner and quickly pulled Allie, who was next to her, into her arms.
The tattooed man's knife was advancing towards her and Lindsey knew there was no time to avoid it, so she intuitively turned to her back.
However, the stabbing pain she expected did not come and her body was shoved aside, which caused Lindsey to loosen her grip on Allie. Allie then fell out of her arms.
Lindsey looked back to see the tattooed man lying on the ground with the knife stabbed in his arm.
Zayn still looked like his previous self, not even one strand of hair was out of place. He even casually caught Allie, who almost fell to the ground.
Lindsey did not know what she was feeling at the moment. Zayn had sneaked around the back while no one was looking and saved her.
The bodyguards in the back surrounded them the moment Zayn came out of nowhere. With the tattooed man subdued, how could the others in the room be a match for the trained bodyguards? They all rolled to the ground and wailed within a couple of seconds.
Allie came back to her wits and recalled that she was taken away by some men, but when she looked up, what she saw through her blurry eyes was Zayn's side profile.
Did this man save her?
Zayn’s arm was still holding onto Allie's waist, so she could feel his body temperature. Somehow, Allie had the sudden urge to cry.
However, the man’s attention was on Lindsey and he did not even notice Allie's gaze.
When he saw someone next to him, he casually pushed Allie into that person's hands.
The warmth was suddenly withdrawn and Allie felt a little disappointed.
Allie thought, ‘I must thank him properly in the future.’ She then lost consciousness again.
