Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 106

Zayn had always done as he pleased and never cared about anyone’s opinion. At this moment, when he saw Lindsey frowning as she looked at him, he became soft-hearted.

"Stop us at a pharmacy."

Lindsey thought she had misheard because she did not expect Zayn to concede.

The driver obeyed Zayn’s orders and found a pharmacy nearby. He then went down under Zayn’s command and bought the medicine.

In the enclosed space, Zayn carefully sprayed the solution on Lindsey’s bruise. They were very close to each other and Lindsey could not ignore the tingling sensation from Zayn's fingers touching her back.

"Come work at Denarius." The man who had been silently applying the medicine for her suddenly opened his mouth.

Lindsey was taken aback and thought she had misheard, so she asked again, "What did you say?"

"Resign and come work at Denarius," Zayn said slowly. His domineering tone was resolute.

Lindsey refused without even thinking twice. "I'm not going."

The man's fingers suddenly stopped and only after a long time did he resume his movements. "Give me a reason."

Lindsey pursed her lips. When she felt that Zayn was done applying the medication, she sat up and straightened her clothes. She then looked Zayn straight in the eye and said, "Have you forgotten who the Director of Denarius' Consulting Department is?"

She had a questioning tone and was even mentally prepared to be kicked out of the car by him, but Zayn did not get mad and asked, "Just because of this?"

‘Do I need another reason? I’d rather die than work for Jenny Lenig!’

"I’ll dismiss her."

When Zayn said that, Lindsey jerked her head up to look at him. Her eyes were filled with disbelief as she said, "You...no...wait...why?"

Lindsey was so shocked that she could not even say a complete sentence and blurt out the question.

"Why do you think?" The man's voice was low as he looked at Lindsey dotingly.

Lindsey felt that she would go crazy if Zayn continued to stare at her like this. "Do you know what you’re saying?"

‘Last night, didn’t he visit Jenny Lenig at the hospital? Why does he want to kick her out of Denarius now?’

Lindsey did not dare to hold too much expectation and forced down the speculation and fantasies that had surfaced in her heart.

Without hesitation, Zayn said, "I know what I’m saying. You can come work at Denarius and I’ll ask Jenny to resign. Is there anything else you’re unclear about?"

‘No, it's very clear. But...’

Lindsey looked at the building not far away and calmed her mind. She then took a deep breath and exhaled again before saying, "I don't want to go to Denarius."

Zayn never thought that Lindsey would reject his offer. Even though he looked a little annoyed, he still patiently asked, “Why?”

Lindsey looked at Zayn. Her beautiful eyes were full of determination and remarkably radiant.

"I just want to work based on my own ability and I don’t want to live under anyone’s shadow."

Lindsey did not want to work in the same environment as Zayn. Although she did not know Zayn's purpose in doing so, she wanted more of her own space. Lindsey felt like she had suffered enough from Zayn’s temperamental mood.

Even if she resigned, she did not want to go to Denarius.

Unexpectedly, after she said that, the man chuckled. "Do you think after our relationship is made public that any of your jobs will be unrelated to me? Or do you think that if you continue to stay at Hemera, there won’t be enough gossip about you and Shaun Juhl?"
